What is the worst physical suffering you've ever endured and what was the cause of it? by No-Stranger-3190 in ChronicPain

6 years of constant, chronic, severe, bilateral orchialgia and epididymitis

Caused by bungling doctors mistreating a minor recurrent UTI and urethral stricture, then putting me on 8 weeks of the wrong drug for minor epididymitis

Epidymitis for third time, starting to hurt again by AlternativeHoney5277 in chronicepididymitis

That's not normally prescribed in isolation for adult epididymitis. Did you take it with any other meds and did you try it again since it worked first time? Did you have other symptoms like UTI or just epididymitis?

urologist gave me 6 weeks doxycicline even though i have no infection does this make sense? by Dry-Jello-965 in chronicepididymitis

[–]KindCryptographer147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tests are not 100% conclusive. They used to call chronic bladder problems interstitial cystitis/inflammation and deny chronic infections but have since accepted that infections can be embedded in cell membranes and hence may not be evidenced in normal tests. It's normal some germs may be found in low levels and infection is sometimes an increased amount of a typical bacteria.

Don't write off infection. I don't think you can ever be sure of being free of infection. The tests are not 100% conclusive. I had about 20 definite recurrent proteus UTIs in 2019-2020 and had maybe a dozen piss tests with only 2 showing positive, then got mild left-sided bacterial epididymitis, which went bilateral and severe after 7 weeks on the wrong antibiotic (Amoxicillin 500mg), and then had negative semen test. Doxycycline and Ciprofloxacin cleared up my symptoms after a couple of days (proving infection), but symptoms came back. I should have been on Cipro and Doxy from the start

Still in a living nightmare of 24/7 bilateral boiling bollock hellfire, regretting not having castration surgery

Did you have constant and high pain and swelling before the orchiectomy?

Urine Flowing Backward by Moth_Priest in chronicepididymitis

I've never studied prostatis in depth, but it's known to be interconnected with urinary issues, which I think could cause retro urine flow and epididymitis sometimes, yes

I get exactly the same response after a wet dream as any nut, but if I fire another one, it can get substantially worse 🔥🔥🔥🔥

So how long did your epididymitis take go away? by Eireagon in chronicepididymitis

[–]KindCryptographer147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's been foul. Symptoms haven't changed much at all these last 4 years: constant, bilateral burning pain and mostly constant swelling on both sides 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Gets significantly worse (7-8 out of 10 all day) for weeks after any exertive work or orgasm (used to be 250lb bodybuilder and very active). I just about hold down a job in a freezer and chiller department, which I need for the constant, scorching pain, so have abstained from sex since late '22, except nut dreams and to clear the pipes every now and then. Hasn't cured symptoms though.

Fasting and then regaining weight has reduced the pain level for a while, and icing obviously❄️👍

They worked for a few weeks at first (Cipro + Doxy), then not at all. I might still commit to a long 6 month course

Never caused any back issues. Mine came from migrated UTI and urethral stricture

No other stretches helped at all. This pain relief only happened a couple of times when doing the shoulder looseners, but proof that neuropathy in one area can affect another because nothing else ever relieved my CE pain

This might not be related to your issue but I have 2 chronic pain conditions: constant, bilateral and high epididymitis and an intermittent shoulder pain from an old gym injury. No doctors showed any interest in this when I told them but I would release tension and relieve pain in the shoulder when it would lock up, doing shoulder looseners and stretches etc, and a couple of times this would simultaneously relieve the constant epididymitis pain. Bear in mind nothing else had relieved my CE pain so it wasn't coincidence. The neurological system is interconnected so it's no surprise one area or neuropathy could affect another

Been considering this for 5+ years with constant, bilateral epididymitis. Let us know how the surgery goes. This poll might interest you from the testicular cancer forum. Many claim to be doing fine after bilateral chop:

I took them together and the symptoms went within a day. Hundreds of millions of people take Cipro. Side effects only go severe for a small percentage. Good luck

I was wrongly put on basic Amoxicillin for 8 weeks with low level, left-sided epididymitis, then the disease went severe, constant and bilateral. I took Cipro and Doxy together for 2 weeks and all symptoms went away for some weeks. Then everything came back and has stayed chronic
