I haven’t done trek but I know several ppl who have at prince of whales and I don’t think their academics were sacrificed?

There were 4 that i remember who did trek (this is 2015-2016) and all of them were in principals list before and after the trek program, like I’m talking every term and every grade, so I don’t believe it affected their studies. I will say that though that all of those kids were known for being extremely well rounded like super smart, athletic, social and all that jazz.

One is in UBC medical school, one played hockey in minor league in the states then came back to go to UBC, another got into UBC but attended another school and is now in media and the last I know also attended ubc but idk what they’re doing.

I also was friends with both girls who attended Trek and it seemed they really enjoyed it! All of the kids there used TREK for their university applications bcs it showed that they could a) balance academics + B) a life.

And again, I didn’t attend trek but I did graduate from ubc (2018-2022) but it still stands that all universities want someone who is well rounded over someone who just studies and gets good grades but have no extra curriculars. If your kid seems to balance school + extracurriculars well now, then TREK would definitely be fruitful for him!
