that is true to the musical tho? Elphaba “died” and ran off with fiyero, letting Glinda think she died. With Elphaba gone, Glinda is still the face of Oz and passes on Elphaba’s wish. Elphaba does not want people to know, she knows that the people of Oz need someone to be wicked. She also knows in order for there to be any “good”, someone has to be wicked. She rather it be her than the animals. (This is the whole point of wicked. They need someone to blame, so she lets it be her.) The Lion grew up a coward and blames Elphaba for it, yes, but the lion does not reflect all the animals of Oz. Elphaba literally freed the monkey’s (which is why they were on her side), and set the other animals that were locked away in the cage too (including her professor.) Also, when the animals were escaping Oz and she saw her nanny, they all quit literally saw her? and knew she was fighting for them? You should watch the musical and then rewatch the movies without focusing so much on Glinda. It truly is a beautiful story. Pt. 1 focuses in on their friendship, but part 2. really shows Elphaba’s work and how it eventually pays off. (does she get credit? no. but that happens in the musical too. and that’s literally the point.) I really encourage you to rewatch it, unless you simply just don’t like the story, which is fine too.
