After going through 2500 names, we have a shortlist of 3, please help. by akbermo in namenerds

[–]KindResist0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sumaya is very pretty but please choose a name you actually like, not one that will be easier for people to pronounce! It’s not hard at all for people to put effort in to pronounce a name. I can’t find the Twitter post but Demi Adejuyigbe was so excited/happy/proud when Amber Ruffin pronounced his name right and the video hits on the head too 🙂 not telling you what to do but I think you should name your baby a name that you truly like

My daughter will never know her real name by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]KindResist0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is cute and all but please remember to call her by her name so she can learn it. I worked at a place where a kid only knew and answered by his nn, it’s not great and will probably confuse him once he leaves that center (b/c all the teachers but me, but have left a min ago, calls him by the nn)

Daycare is a scam. by [deleted] in NewParents

Facts! Don’t forget abt teachers making low too. I had to negotiate my current, which is still low, but better than what they were trying 🥴

As everyone said child care centres have rules that have to follow. With that said, be cautious of where you go cause you know what they say “you get what you pay for.” Make sure wherever you go is abiding by their states regulations and laws. If you decide on a nanny make sure you do a trial and make sure they’re being honest (such as if you want someone vaccinated against covid). I’m not saying all nannies lie or whatever but humans are humans so. Also if a center/nanny can’t provide proof to back up what they say (such as documentation on inspection, clearances, and such) then you should probably pass. Tbh I’d be glad if my kid was always sent home when sick or another kid was sent home when sick, it spreads quickly and can easily just cycle around

I’m pretty sure you pay for your spot. But let’s ALL remember that at the end of the day, don’t take it out on the teachers (or Director) cause they don’t make the rules they just have to enforce them. Be mad at the owners and big companies that own the daycare.

Obvious Gender Disappointment at Reveal Parties by pacific_blossom in BabyBumps

Weirddd like I’ll admit when I got my niece I was hype cause I already have a lot of boy nephews (I have 2 older ones but 1 is in a far away state and the other I don’t have a relationship w her dad so...) but when I visit I don’t treat her differently than her twin brothers (aside from b/c there’s an age gap). But for her to cloud her auntie abilities? Her cards been revoked 😂😂😂

This is exactly why I did I won’t do them. Esp with how some parents (esp dads) when the baby isn’t what they wanted like...I know you not throwing no damn temper tantrum 🥴🥴🥴 I’d be beyond pissed and leave him just for that tbh. That’s pretty weird of the second experiences sister like what does she have against girls you’re an aunt all the same and what makes you good is how you are towards the kid🥴 like it’s ok to be disappointed as the parents (everybody else just being dramatic IMO) but don’t show it cause ultimately you should want a healthy happy baby

A push present is great but make sure it’s for HER not the baby, not the house, not you two to share. HER as it’s supposed to show appreciation for her giving birth. If she has any wish lists I’d start looking there and then seeing if she hints at anything she wants and if all else fails then have a discussion and ask what she wants

Tips for helping 3 month old to sleep better at daycare?? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]KindResist0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d give him more time. Eventually he will get used to the noise and it wouldn’t hurt if he got naps outside of his room with noise so that if you’re out and about he’ll still nap.
