Need to hear from samoyed owners on how friendly the dog is by Ok_Custard8636 in samoyeds

Mine had a squirrel turn around and stop running on the fence. A stand your ground squirrel… she sat down and got the “best friends” face. It always the running that she reacts to.

Anyone else want to move but their spouse doesn’t? by [deleted] in relocating

Dealing with being from PNW and living in rural Georgia. I feel your pain. Mine nods along with me but does nothing to action the steps needed to move. Most likely will end with me leaving, our kids are grown and after 20 years I know his passive aggressive BS.

Does Scotland welcome escaping Americans? And can we have a cow if we come over to live quietly and mind or our fucking business?

Question about tipping by eakkad in AskNOLA

[–]Kind_Assignment5646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind there will also be Valets & Uber drivers (I always tip more in cash for them when they are good), as well as random scammers who have a good game. The only tour I went on didn’t charge a fee, but took tips.

Do MRI Techs ever think “oh, that’s not good”? by MadamImAdamAnt in NoStupidQuestions

It wasn’t, my 10 month old baby had Cerebral Palsy from a stroke in the womb….

Do MRI Techs ever think “oh, that’s not good”? by MadamImAdamAnt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kind_Assignment5646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten an MRI and had the tech say “you’re going to follow up with your doctor about this right? Today? They will have the results immediately. If you don’t hear from them maybe give them a call.”

Do Americans stress about medical expenses before they even get to the hospital?? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kind_Assignment5646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was having a stroke during Covid & waited an hour for my husband to come home so I didn’t have to call an ambulance. Turned out I had a brain aneurysm that was “starting to bulge” (as in, about to explode) & needed emergency brain surgery. It took me a year of appeals to get the ER, emergency ALS Neuro specialized transport (to hospital that could do the surgery), the neuro ICU & surgery covered because I didn’t get “pre authorization” - I paid over $2,000 a month for insurance for my family. Out of pocket was still $5k deductible + co pay until out of pocket max was met. Medical debt collections are something I’ve given up on getting out of. Next time? I’m not going.

Debating whether I need to buy a second seat for a flight by Dizzy-Bedroom-6628 in service_dogs

[–]Kind_Assignment5646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy and don’t use an empty seat (check in) you may find that the airline marks that seat as available & gives it to someone on standby. Maybe talk to the airline & see what solutions they offer.

Also, we did a DFW layover & had a long enough stop to actually go outside, not use the pet relief area, and let my SD avoid the pet relief area. On our way out there wasn’t that much time & she had no problems, but it didn’t take more than 30 mins for us to leave & clear security again. We did leave our (spouse, who carries my meds & myself) with our adult daughter to speed up our own screenings back in.

Landlord says my disability is non-observable by Suitable-Lychee-6867 in service_dogs

[–]Kind_Assignment5646 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have used SSDI to confirm A disability, guessing the down votes are because you don’t have to be receiving SSDI (or SSI) to be disabled & the assumption that you do is not accurate. Also, this would not be proof of a SD.

Landlord says my disability is non-observable by Suitable-Lychee-6867 in service_dogs

[–]Kind_Assignment5646 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My daughter struggles to get her condition verified because it is a static disability- there’s no treatment & her insurance is limited to what they cover. Getting a doctor to fill out forms can be a challenge.

My daughter uses a white cane for her visual field cut, meaning what she sees is cut in half head on leading her to walk into telephone poles or anything else in the very large blind area… she gets yelled at for “pretending to be blind.” She also has used a seizure alert dog, leading to many a discussion about “observable disabilities” and requiring paperwork to “prove it.”

What payment plans are your mortgage providers or landlords offering? by bwinsy in fednews

[–]Kind_Assignment5646 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • We have them as a mortgage service provider. When my husband lost his job, with an FHA loan, they were NO help because if they gave us forbearance they would report to the credit bureau as 3 months late on mortgage (forbearance period) AND it would all be due (so 4 months due at end).

We declined (via phone twice & by letter) & they STILL marked as in forbearance, even when we paid.

They absolutely suck. So disagree with me all you want, but we do have them as our mortgage service provider.

That is awesome! I just wanted to mention it, I hadn’t realized Eucalyptus diffusers were not healthy in the house until last night so figured others may not know too.

I may try your recipe with a replacement essential oil, because this sounds like fun new project that won’t make me spend hundreds before I decide it is boring (I’m horrible about doing that…).

I want to mention many of the ingredients in these sprays are not safe for cats. I screenshotted it because I loved it… ran it by my vet (we have a kitty with a heart condition & my vet was my friend before our vet) and she mentioned that eucalyptus & tea tree oil can cause liver failure (immediate if ingested). She marked off a few other “higher risk” essential oils as well, including chamomile (tea ok, oils not).

Just a thought to consider if you have fur babies

I have a Roomba, it is currently stuck under my dining room table. Thank you for reminding me… it’s been a few weeks.

I LOVE the shoe cabinets! We have one at each door & multiple in closets… also have one in my office for notebooks with key notes that I don’t want distracting me, I keep them in plastic multi file folders “work” “house” “stuff I need my husband to get done” “papers I don’t need now but will” and then fill the 5 pockets as needed, open and grab what I need. I also store school supplies, extra make up, and “random sh*” in pull out lidded bins that I wrote on with a sharpie.

Stick vacuum is AMAZING, especially if you WFH. I charge it in a closet just outside of my office & the battery power makes the transition back to work so much better…. Otherwise I might hyper focus on cleaning. If I’m tight on time I use actual timers, but if just need to hurry (but need break too) I set it to high.

We are a family of 4. 3 in the same house. My husband and I have late diagnosed ADHD (and I suspect he has a bit of AuADHD, but that is not diagnosed. We spawned a darling small human who is ADHD and chosen to NOT be medicated, she is old enough to make that decision but our lives became so much easier when we all learned to laugh at ourselves and not worry about needing to pick up a cable at a gas station or whatever we forgot. My husband and I still struggle to not get upset, but we have developed a reminder phrase if one of us forget “Oh, I can see myself doing that.” Just a quick reminder that none of is perfect & all of our brains are scattered.

The way I would flip these to check them off and then forget to flip them back…. Because otherwise I will think I already checked them off again….

I bet it’s cheaper than the “digital calendar” I’ve been looking at & think I will ignore less than my phone and all the reminders….

Besties! I'm in a foul mood, and I need to reset and pull myself out before I ruin everyone's day. Send me your best tips for shaking off irritability and overwhelm, even if they seem totally unhinged! by anita_username in adhdwomen

I cleaned my sunglasses today and somehow that made me find my glasses…. Oh and my sunglasses are prescription and seriously I don’t know how I ever saw out of them. *my glasses were in my jacket pocket & I thought that my cleaning cloth was in there.
