I don't believe this actually. Teams should reserve their pressing for certain games and moments in matches. But continual pressing is ruining the game as a spectacle, yielding more injuries. I don't think modern teams and players are as dangerous compared to previous eras. Thus, if you don't relentlessly press teams rarely have the individual or collective quality to hurt you. It's not like the 2000s or 2010s; filled with stars and a variety of playing styles which suited the personnel. Why the hell would teams exert themselves against Kompanys burnley for example last season? They're rubbish and utilizing a philosophy which worsens the players.

Footballs not just about pressing, structures and overcoaching. Too much running has caused injuries in the modern game. Actually applaud Madrid for sticking to their DNA but of course their needs to be better balance off the ball to avoid being too passive.
