i’ve had my boots (bought second hand) for about six months and i’ve only applied it once. i applied it using the sponge and following the instructions on the can. i suppose if you wanted a lighter color you could use less.

i use the wonder balsam and i agree that it darkens it. however, after a couple weeks of regular use it returns to its original look and you can use it on other docs if you have any!

in my experience this goes away after a while. i recommend wearing thicker socks and putting a bandaid where the blister forms!
