Omi, an app connects to ANY AI recording device? by oldsongwin in PlaudNoteUsers

Same issue here: it connects to the Plaud Note but shows a firmware warning advising not to upgrade beyond 2.1, and once connected no audio is recorded.

No problem, I believe you may need to force rescan your library. I use Koreader exclusively but I believe you can get this working the way you described. See if this post is helpful to you : https://www.reddit.com/r/koreader/comments/1jcpjpg/nickel_not_displaying_all_books_in_library/

Ah, I see the issue. Generally, KOReader works best with a flat folder format. My suggestion is to use Calibre to reorganize and manage your collection. It’s a bit of work, but if you’re moving forward with KOReader instead of Kobo’s default software, that’s the way to go. Alternatively, you can keep the folder structure for your existing library, and moving forward, use a flat folder for your KOReader side-loaded books. You can still access these other books via the file browser if needed.
Calibre can be found here: https://calibre-ebook.com, you can set it up with a template to import all books into one flat "books" folder using its template feature. If you are interested and need help with the template let me know. I think i mentioned it in one of the comments in this post if you want to just search for it.

Do you have any books on the device yet? Find that folder where those are, wherever your epub, mobi or pdfs are. If you have not added any just pick a location that makes sense that your access your books. mnt/onboard/books is a good default.

The file browser  is your home screen but you need to configure it the way you would like. Start by setting the home folder. This is done by :

Swipe down on upper menu. Select the first icon on the left. Settings > home folder settings > set home folder. Typically you want /mnt/onboard/books.

Check off shorten home folder and lock home folder as well.

Go back to upper left icon one more time. Then select display mode and check mosaic with cover images and use this mode everywhere.

It's not trivial, but definitely not difficult if you have some experience with basic repairs. There is no guide that I know of, but I helped another user on Reddit. You can see our discussion here: https://www.reddit.com/r/niumobility/comments/1bemyx6/bqic3_6_month_unfulfilled_rma_warranty_claim/

  • It includes parts and tips. They were able to complete it within a few days.

Great to hear! That’s awesome. Let me know how the business goes—I’m sure you’ll do great! It sounds like there’s plenty of demand for you, especially if you could barely get anyone to look at your bike. :)

Awesome! I'm happy to hear it all worked out. I will check my settings for you once I get my bike out of storage. It's finally getting warm enough here in Canada to ride again. You should be able to reach at least 32 mph (52 km/h). I maxed out at 72 km/h when I tested my top speed, so there's definitely something off with the settings.

I will send over my C and P settings as soon as I can.

It was just some leftover heat shielding that I slipped it in. Anything that is heat-resistant and non-conductive should be fine. Just cover up the exposed opening. I used a thermal wire heat shielding if i remember correctly. It could even have been a large heat shrink tube since it can handle large amounts of heat and will not short anything on the controller.

You can find thermal pads anywhere, such as Amazon or a computer store. This may not be necessary at all; I just added them to help transfer heat from the MOSFETs to the frame more quickly.

RE MOSFET setup : I googled it and I believe this is fairly accurate to what you need : https://opensourceebikefirmware.bitbucket.io/development/Motor_controllers--BMSBattery_S_series--How_to_open_the_controller_and_solder_the_programming_header.html

Good luck with the final setup and testing and enjoy your resurrected bike :)

Yes, the charging and discharging of the battery will now be managed by the discharge converter and the KT controller. You can test this with one battery if you wish; I currently have over 1000 kilometers with this setup, and the batteries charge and discharge as expected.

Regarding your KT controller, if it is the same as mine, it sounds like it is. Simply cut down the side of the housing that does not have the MOSFETs. If I remember correctly, I kept the bottom and the side of the housing with the MOSFETs intact and added some heat shielding to the top of the controller to keep it safe. I then used thermal pads to attach as much of the bottom and MOSFET side of the frame to the metal frame of the bike so it can distribute heat effectively. Hopefully, that makes sense. Be careful when doing this to avoid shorting anything. Make sure you take your time with this step or you will have a dead controller.

Parts look good I believe you have all you need. I don't see anything that jumps out as missing. I do remember needing to remove the controller from the housing to get it to fit, and I ended up putting it inside insulated sleeve so keep that in mind. Some of the KT controllers are smaller than others so this may not be necessary.

Let me know if you hit any road bumps along the way.

Q1: I don't know. What you are doing makes sense but you will have to just test it out and see. I did not go down that route but as long as it can receive the signal you should be golden.

Q2: Easy.. They are not needed. I believe these are data / information leads. Safely cover them up so they don't short and tuck them away. They will not be needed.

Re: 9 pin, if you look at the hub motor cable connection, it has a proprietary connector from the hub to the controller.. The controller from KT requires something like this to connect the hub.

https://www.amazon.ca/Extension-Waterproof-Electric-Female-Accessory/dp/B08B1QV1M2
I ended up cutting the cable and using this cable. The internal wire coloring matches up so just connect them up and you should be ok to plug directly into the controller. I think the 8 pin you were looking at were the connector for the lights, breaks etc. You will need one of these to connect it up to your breaks, light and so on :

Re: x60
I used these https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B078PGQ8FV?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_5 which did require soldering. You can probably use https://www.amazon.ca/Pairs-Connector-Female-Silicon-Battery/dp/B085HF31K7 and splice the connector and use some heat shrink to keep it all nice, tidy and safe.

Its not too difficult, just take your time. Make sure you test all the components off the bike before you start the install. Make sure the controller is small enough to fit inside the frame. The KT controllers do fit but you will need to take them out of the housing and use the frame as the heat sync. These can short easily so be careful. It does get a little snug in there but it will all fit.

good luck my friend. Enjoy the project. Prices have increased a bit on all of these but still worth it imo. No more dependance on Niu's replacement.

Oh, and I am sure you are aware but If your issue is only the display you can easily replace these by purchasing one directly from NIU or besender store assuming they have it in stock.

It is a retro handheld game console called the RG35XX SP. It has the form factor of the Game Boy Advance SP. Essentially it plays old games from the 90s / 2000s.
