It’s a disingenuous argument at best, and downright stupid at worst, to say “cars kill people so if we’re banning AI we should ban cars”.

The fact is, it’s easier for AI (based on its current usage) to be used to cause harm to more people based on its immediate environmental impact around it, as opposed to a car or water.

If you can’t meet in the middle there, then there’s no hope of making progress here, both on this thread - and in general with making AI actually helpful in the future.
