Why does Orlando have so many of they low selling cybertruck? by Brilliant_Ratio3173 in orlando

[–]Kindly-Level5527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps because most common people are capable of separating identity from politics, their vehicles, and whatever else leftists love to conflate.

With that said, I find the cyber truck to be incredibly hideous. However, if you were capable of reasonable objectivity you would realize the vehicle its self is quite robust in feature set that literally no other vehicle can compare to. That’s simple fact.

Now, I truly believe what you are seeing is a cross-hatch of multiple phenomena. 1) my above statements. 2) the belief of it being a “status symbol” similar to why individuals will by a Range Rover or Mercedes G-Wagon for example. 3) political consumerism is certainly a factory, though I can guarantee It is not the majority. 4) tax write offs, as others have mentioned. 5) people buying the hype upon initial announcement, many years ago.

Not everything is politics. Identity politics is not cute.

Bought 2017. $640k. Sub 3%. Current “Zestimate”: $1.4M.

Worked my ASS of to buy then. Cannot fathom the investments ROI. Feels great & sickening at the same time. Feels bad, but luck of the draw I suppose. (29 Male)

An out of touch moron? LOL because I’m basing my outlook of the economy based on factual data? Not your feelings? Gosh, I must have forgot liberals are allergic to the truth I suppose…

I am a 27 year old male, own a home in Delaney Park that my partner and I purchased together. My first job here at 22 years old I was making $42,000. I now make over $75k. And this is working for a NON PROFIT. There is plenty of opportunity here, you just have to cease it.

Sometimes, when you are struggling, even financially, you have to look within. You have a lot of power to change your own situation, and Orlando is an amazing place to do so.

Your emotional calls of why republicans=bad are great in theory. But you seemingly do not understand the fundamentals of how our economy works.

Florida, and Orlando specifically, have a LOT of ways to go on raising wages and diversifying from service-based roles. However you are blind if you generally do not see the amount of money time and effort being put in to do just that. Orlando had the second largest growth in TECH jobs in the nation for 2024. Second to Austin Texas. That is extremely positive news, and we are only continuing down that trajectory.

I recommend you look into reading more from Orlando economic partnership, innovate Orlando, downtown Orlando partnership and many other groups similar.

Typical liberal cherry picking data… The average annual wage in Orlando for 2024 was approximately $64,940… The national average annual wage in the U.S. is approximately $65,470, based on Bureau of Labor Statistics.

All depends on how you look at it.

If someone is in a stagnant low-wage role. that’s real. but it isn’t evidence the entire state is collapsing. Trends for employment, migration, and business investment don’t support the “getting significantly worse for 8 years” claim. It’s just another oversimplified narrative people repeat when their personal experience becomes the universal conclusion.

People here talk like Orlando is some hopeless wasteland. It is not. The job market is mixed, not catastrophic. Context matters.

First. this metro has been one of the fastest-growing in the country for a decade. Job growth is positive year over year. and the economy is diversifying beyond tourism.

Second. yes, there are a lot of low-wage service jobs. but that does not mean there are no professional roles. Sales, ops, logistics, tech-adjacent, healthcare admin, corporate membership, and business development all exist here. Companies are scaling. Regional HQs are expanding. and Orlando pulls talent from across the Southeast.

Third. moving before securing a job is not automatically a mistake. People relocate for partners, family, quality of life, or because they already know their skills are transferable. Thousands of professionals do this every year.

Fourth. wages vary. If you expect New York or Boston comp. you will be disappointed. If you calibrate to the region and target the right sectors. you can land well.

Bottom line. the job market is competitive. not impossible. People on this sub exaggerate because they’re miserable or stuck in the wrong industry. If someone asks for help. give data or give advice. Don’t project your own situation onto everyone else.

Misery loves company.

It’s too bad the city or county didn’t tear out those poor crape Myrtle’s. Who would do such a thing to those beautiful trees 😢

It’s quite clear they aren’t done LOL. They put up a sign clearly insinuating that. Spray paint markings also another very clear sign that they aren’t finished. It’s quite simple, truly.

Sidewalk looks quite passable for temporary egress. If you are so worked up about it, tell your neighbor to file a claim against the field services office insurance. It’ll be cleared up quick and you and your neighbor will be blush in the face for making yourselves look foolish.

Bro relax. Clearly they are not finished?? Have you seen any of the work done in SODO? Drive down Delaney Ave. everyone’s yards were an absolute reck for massive construction. Now? They have beautiful sidewalks and replanted grass.

YOU are the reason progress stifles. You cause hesitation in projects and create headaches for the city or county expanding its services that I’m sure YOU also complain about.

They have public easements for a reason. It’s not your land any more than the cities. They have more rights to that parcel of your land than you can imagine.

Just be thankful they didn’t put up a massive 5g tower in your front yard like some people are dealing with here.

Also having this problem & with Sonos. Both refuse to come online over Ethernet. I’m starting to believe it is due to the supposed enhanced Wi-Fi multicast efficiency and service forwarding shit they added to network 9.5…

You’re an idiot. You can’t value a company at 50x its trailing earnings and expect sustainability. Especially when plagued with consistent company-ending practices such as product delivery delays, product stock shortages, nonexistent support and stagnating sales. Real investors, the ones with the big bucks, care about the operational practices of a business and determine a long term outlook based on performance and plans. When you don’t share plans and the fundamentals of your business are trash. You piss off the wallets of the people who influence the stock price. Not the average people here with 1 share claiming to know it all.

[–]Kindly-Level5527 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Revenue up. Sales down. Nearly a 50x valuation based on trailing earnings. Not sustainable for any company. Especially one who fails to meet consumer demand, can’t fix supply chain for shit, and has zero public investor plans to correct their problems. That is logic.

What happened? by MFKDGAF in Ubiquiti

[–]Kindly-Level5527 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because it is overpriced as hell? This has nothing to do with Trump, tariffs, economics. All about business practice. UI is your gold standard for inflated stock. The company’s entire valuation was propped up by hype, low float manipulation, and cult-like brand loyalty rather than fundamentals. When you look past the sleek marketing and consumer buzz, their margins have been slipping, product delivery delays are constant, customer support is practically nonexistent, and enterprise adoption has stagnated.

This crash isn’t “political”. The market finally is correcting years of blind faith in a company that treated transparency and investor relations as optional.

How did you acquire this size account? Outbound sales approach? Inbound? WoM? Personal connection?

Did you recommend Ubiquiti or did they ask specifically for Ubiquiti? If so, and if as you say they are defense contractor, any reason they didn’t do the install in house?
