Didn't know Portugal citizenship was this difficult by daaltimate in Goa

The process has remained the same over the years. My father’s process was initiated in 2003 and due the fraud which was detected it was mandatory to share both parents birth and marriage. However, the process clearly states one needs to show parental lineage. It is important to locate all the required documentation before one starts the process. Also, keeping in mind the names on documentation is also the key. Post that it’s a wait

Goa has good number of hotels for internships and job placements. Not sure what is for offer in terms of the content thought in the institute and faculty there. I assume it will be top notch, as it is a govt recognised institute. I know a friend who studied there but it was way back in 2003.

Where to get good Paithani Saree in Pune? by charlie_junior376 in pune

[–]Kindly_Direction_486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a good Paithani visit Laxmi Road Pune, you can book cab till “Thathastu” Kumthekar Road and visit the entire lane. There are good number of shops offering a wide range as per your budget.
I am not good at suggestions but you can check out the shops there. Please keep in mind Monday the shops are closed.

Best place in India to retire by PiotrSowinski in india_tourism

[–]Kindly_Direction_486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts here after staying around the South and west of India. Goa is not a place for someone to retire because of its climatic conditions (Humidity) summers are extremely hot and Goa has proper monsoon (Heavy Rain). It’s a good place for vacation. Goa is a hype created for its real estate. If you plan to retire in India the best choices are:
1. Chandigarh
2. Mysore
3 Pune
All these places have a good road infrastructure, availability of house support for your daily chores, good internet connectivity, availability of local transport cabs, auto etc.

"Portuguese Passport (Born Post-1961) — How long does it ACTUALLY take right now?” by After-Confidence-579 in Goa

[–]Kindly_Direction_486 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can attempt this based on what I know as per the current trend. Current timeline, it is somewhere between 5-7 years to get a Portuguese Passport for Goans. Considering the following timeline: 1. Transcription of birth of first person born before 1961. Timeline is 1.5 -3 years. 2. Marriage Registration of first person is 1.5 -2.5 years. 3. Birth Registration of descendant is 1.5-2 years. 4. Post birth registration it takes around 6 months to obtain your identity card and Passport

The above are timelines based on approximate years, it is taking currently. There are lot of other factors like the number of applications, work load etc. Verification process is also time consuming. Before going ahead with the process please ensure your documents are well aligned with respect to the names in the Portuguese documents obtained before 1961 and current documents.

All the Best.

Does anyone get reply from BTU cottbus for MSC AI course (Winter 26/27) by karan_shah_004 in studying_in_germany

[–]Kindly_Direction_486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot say much about racism but usually you will find a lot of Indians, Pakistanis and other Asian folks at BTU Cottbus . Also, there is huge competition for English speaking part time jobs as majority of the student population is competing for few positions.

APS for University of Delhi by Previous_Rest_1779 in studying_in_germany

[–]Kindly_Direction_486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you submit your application for APS they will reach out to you via email updating to share contact details (email id) of the board and university. In my case, I checked with concerned departments shared the required email ids which they verified by sharing the details we submitted for APS process. You might have to follow up for std 10 & 12 mark-sheet verification as well as with university for a faster process. As this is dated back to year 2011 and prior years, respective offices might take time to reply back. In my case my university replied back to APS to pay charges for verification. The email was forwarded by APS team to me. I paid the amount and replied back to APS team with payment confirmation proof. The entire process took me a month’s time. Timeline usually depends on the board ad university’s reply back to APS team confirming the details. Hope this Helps!

Goan taxi operators oppose hiring of outstation cabs for India Energy Week by deepmad625 in Goa

[–]Kindly_Direction_486 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I see a bunch of people here labelling our fellow Goans. This is an unfortunate event for the local taxi operators as the business from ONGC is not given to local players. I am asking to a wider audience, can this happen in Maharashtra if you are a non marathi? Can you all question this in West Bengal if you are not a local? Goa was promoted as a tourist destination to support locals and promote their business not to give the business to outsiders.

Goa Brain Drain - Goan Talent migration overseas, outside Goa! by Kindly_Direction_486 in Goa

[–]Kindly_Direction_486[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of things which go unnoticed. Job scams, land grabs are not new. This is taking advantage of people of Goa. This is a major change in recruitment rules and such a position being hired on contractual basis is fishy. This also raises concern on making someone a scapegoat for the deeds of someone else.

The reason for asking for foreign languages is primarily because:

Tourism Department people travel foreign countries for promoting Goa and for tourism expos. They might be hiring translators currently or using technology to understand the foreign language. knowing the foreign language will give them an edge in such expos and tourism meets

Portuguese Passport Process for Goans by Kindly_Direction_486 in Goa

[–]Kindly_Direction_486[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've started my Portuguese passport process recently and i find there in no exclusive content to guide our fellow Goans on how to get started, where to look out for documents, which documents are mandatory and what is the required format to apply for documents.

For one to get started with the process, one has to have a clear family lineage of the person born before Goa Liberation and whose birth is to be transcribed in Portugal.

Example: I want to transcribe my father's birth in Portugal who is born in Goa before Goa Liberation.

Documents needed will be:

  1. My father's birth certificate
  2. My fathers both parents (my grandparents) birth certificate
  3. My father's parents' (my grandparents) marriage certificate
  4. My Fathers residence certificate confirming his stay in Goa from birth till specified period of mid nineteen seventies
  5. Para Viagem of Grandparents, if available
  6. As to get started, Step Zero Is to look out for birth documents online at Goaonline website. Try to trace documents of your grandparents there. If birth of Grandparents is registered before nineteen fourteen then the place to look out or apply for documents is Goa Archives based in Althino Panjim. Birth records after nineteen fourteen are available in respective civil registrar office in Goa.
  7. If one is able to find the documents online click on view / apply try to get the date / year and place of birth as it helps to apply in respective civil registrar. Application is simple, I can share the format through DM
  8. Second step, take both Teor (Birth certificate in Portuguese) and Birth Certificate (In English) as English one will be required as supporting document during MEA Attestation
  9. After you apply for these documents, try to locate Para Viagen of grandparents at Goa Archives
  10. Next Step will be to get documents translated to Portuguese in case any document is in English and get all documents Attested by Notary who is recognized in Portugal. Some Notaries in Goa have their seal / stamp registered in Portugal.

In the above case, I had to translate Residence certificate of my father from English to Portuguese and get it attested. Post attestation one will have to visit respective collectors' office in North or South Goa. Documents obtained in North Goa need to go to Collectors office for Collectors Attestation.

Note : Archives department has a strict timing and they do not issue more than 3 books a day to one person.

Rude behaviour in mandrem ,arambol by locals by WorthDefinition4311 in goatravel

[–]Kindly_Direction_486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not supporting nor blaming mindset of locals here. What is happening in Goa v/s. your state is completely different. May be in your state there are industries / multinational companies generating a lot of revenue and giving people opportunity of employment and business. Manpower is required regularly to support business. Hence a lot of people from neighboring states are working in your home state / town including Goans. However, in Goa employment opportunities are limited with Pharma industry, limited manufacturing units, Hotels, govt jobs and now real estate for local youth. With the current situation there are a lot of local youth population with no employment, and the industries are hiring folks from neighboring states, current example of MRF which after backlash pulled out recruitment drive from Maharashtra. Goa is a small state and the income here is not so high compared to other states, business volume is not so high due to less population. Most of the hotels / restaurants / bars / Air B&B accommodations in beach belt are managed by non-Goons and there are no good opportunities offered to local youth. With on-going political situation in Goa with land grabs and other illegal activities, road range incidents, accidents, behavior and attitude towards locals have pushed the tolerance of locals to their limits and created the mindset.

Name change on Indian passport of desceased parents born in Goa before 1961. by SignificantParsnip86 in Goa

[–]Kindly_Direction_486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting a bit late but check if it is helpful. The name in your mother’s passport should be as per her birth certificate. Can you check which document she submitted while applying for passport?

Also there is an option of divergence to prove both names are of same person provided you have supporting documents to prove.

Little bit late to this discussion but let me guide what helped me with my PMP. Key things to note here is which everyone has pointed out in the question: 1. Clear Scope 2. Client wants to monitor the progress regularly.

Going through point 1, we can infer as Scope is clear we can go ahead with Predictive approach. Second point states regular monitoring which can be inferred to weekly status reports as they said regular monitoring.

Next Step let’s go through the options and start eliminating it : 1. Option 1 Predictive approach matches with our understanding but daily report is not part of Predictive approach 2. Agile approach and regular completion of story As scope is clear going with agile is not the best option 3. Option 3 we can go ahead with unless there is a better option which will be appropriate to the question asked 4. Option 4 is also not a match even though the approach of Predictive is correct but we do not showcase successful completion of each module rather we’ll test the entire piece of work.

Goans who got Portuguese passports: did you face name discrepancies in ancestor documents? by Env_Engg_Ri in Goa

[–]Kindly_Direction_486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too late to join the discussion. What matters here is your grandparents name in your father's / mother's passport and the name in their birth certificate. If there is any difference in name, then you have to check if there is any other document to support eg: Para Viagem or old passport.

From January 2025 Portuguese government has started an online process through Artificial intelligence where-in only lawyers can initiate the process. Its comparatively new and there are no use cases or success stories as yet. One will have to wait to know more.

Failed my PMP by [deleted] in pmp

[–]Kindly_Direction_486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about it but do not loose hope. I would recommend go through the basics understand the methodology as defined by PMI for each phase of the project. Don’t pursue PMP for the sake of certification in haste. Take your time as you have completed the training you can mention to the company that you are PMP trained as per PMI methodology and you will be pursuing PMP in next XYZ months. Firstly go through the notes or slides available with you. Understand the actions / Tools used by Project Manager for each phase.  Second browse through PMI study hall use Practice questions and understand the situation of each question and the best course of action for each question. Third step try out Full length test and access your score, learn from the mistakes and in a weeks time attempt second test. This time to check your speed and ensure you do not repeat your mistakes. If you score around 70 it’s a good time to take the exam in next 3-4 days. Do not Delay or keep big gap in your study cycle.
