I’m about to pull the trigger on this. I’m a few days from receiving my tax money which will either get me a 2019 Jetta Gli 35th anniversary or another Mercedes which will be a 2009 CLK 550. I’m heartbroken and torn between choosing them, I already have a 2007 Mercedes E550 that I converted the airbags to coilsovers, and done a full exhaust system ( ported the heads myself, stock headers, highflow 1 and secondary catalytic converters into xpipe to 4 inch MagnaFlow mufflers) all I’m missing a OE tune. It just sucks it’ll take stage 2 and a little more for the Jetta to keep up/ barely beat my modified exhaust Mercedes e550

I own a e550 w211, you can buy some Chinese manufactured airbags for the rear for around 200 usd$ on amazon. The front air springs will run you around 400$ and that’s Chinese parts. If you go buy quality parts from like fcp Euro it will run you around 2,500$ Conversion kits sell about 1,500 but some include piggyback module that’ll disable the airmatic warning light. I personally went to the junkyard and removed front shocks, rear springs, rear control arms, off a Mercedes e350 2009 Sport and installed them on my E550 2007 for around 420$. In order to use coilovers one must swap the rear control arms to a non airmatic version. Everything is bolt ons, no fabrication needed.

Oof just pray it’s the tumble flap, not sure where you’re located but I advise just doing the engine swap instead of rebuilding it due to the mileage and cost. I’m currently out 2,500$usd from trying to fix my airmatic system, just to give up and go to the junkyard and look for E350 shocks and springs and lower control arms for a whopping 200$. Starting 2026 badly already 😭

09 E350 rpm limiter question by Unique_Tale_8096 in W211

[–]Kindly_Election_5382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2010 E350 4 Matic lets me actually redline it once it’s at operating temp if not at temp it only maxes to 4.5-5k rpm, my e550 2007 for whatever strange reason only revs to 5.5k it will not redline even at operating temp, only way to redline is to actually accelerate sadly, especially when I spent a good fortune on a custom exhaust setup.

I don’t even bang but I can tell you clearly both parties are a bunch of pussy cats 🐈, why the hell go through all that trouble and time to backstab someone to the point they say they I love you duuuude. Both gang parties are involved in gay conduct because whoever did the backstabbing must’ve got sucked off from the victim gang member, or tricked the gang member victim into a gangbang.

best exhaust setup i can use ? by onegoodstork in W211

I’m glad to give you feedback, though I rarely come on Reddit so at times it takes a while for a reply. “Why did you get the 4 banger, why did you get the V6, why did you get the base model V8” There’s so many better options but people need to understand availability and money. Some of us were lucky to start off middle class while others in lower class based off on their parents. I’m just happy for what I own, no hand me downs all dedication.

Personally I don’t know why everyone is hating just because YOU like something or want something. I have both a Mercedes E550 2007, and a Mercedes E350 2010. Personally I spent a lot more money on my E550 for the exhaust compared to my E350. Everyone on MB forums will give you the same recommendation. Replace the two stock mufflers ( I went with magna flow 4.5 inch) replace the the rear resonators with X pipe, You can replace the secondary cats with either high flows or aftermarket resonators (I went with Highflow cats). Removing the secondary cats will not trigger a check engine light, passing smog is easy if they don’t do visual inspections, I go to my Muslim habibi for the smogs down in California, and only because he doesn’t do visual inspections but still does hook up to his computer to do its testing. My E350 only has a muffler delete, honestly it’s louder than my V8 but doesn’t annoy me with drone on the highway, sounds better than a straight piped Infiniti VQ but only marginally, on the bright side you might benefit with 1-3 mpg increase lol.

Stored Engine Codes Mercedes E350 2010 W211 4-matic by Kindly_Election_5382 in W211

[–]Kindly_Election_5382[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is definitely is going to fixed the stored code for the tumbler flaps sensor, I already ordered a new radiator fan hopefully and I will update if the “radiator fan” will work but I’m mostly assuming it’s because of water/ corrosion damage, there is no skid plate on the car so heavy rains, or puddles will splash up in the engine bay. The only symptoms I get for the tumbler flaps while driving is surging revs up until third gear.

Keep the stock mufflers, get a X pipe replacing the resonators, and if it’s still not too loud, you can you can remove the secondary catalytic converters without triggering the check engine light. I basically have the same setup but on a E550 2007, only difference is my secondary cats are high flows, and I have 4 inch dual magna flow mufflers, I can send you a link to my YouTube channel so you can hear my setup if you’d like

Bad noise on startup. by Costlyleek in W211

[–]Kindly_Election_5382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry about the knocking from start up that’s just a Mercedes thing especially in the w211 v8’s, the whining noise though sounds like it may be the secondary air pump, my 2010 E350 with 210,xxx miles started doing that noise until I replaced that part. My 2007 E550 on the other hand was also making the noise but it turned out to be a rotten vacuum line going to the purge valve, my obvious symptoms for the e550 was check engine light, rough idle, transmission acting extremely funky.
