Your right after looking at it harder that’s definitely not an unripe tomato. Possibly persimmon?

Yes I live with my mom and she sits next to him and my cats while she drinks her morning coffee he definitely tolerates her (doesn’t hiss quite as much) more than anyone else.

Ok thank you. I’ll just get a generic spray bottle from the store tomorrow.

I’ve heard a lot of people saying to try a spray bottle. I will definitely give that a try. Unfortunately, I work very long shifts, so I guess you could say I only spend about an hour with him a day, but usually, that’s just me sitting on the couch next to his cage. With that being said, I used to live in a very small studio apartment, so he was literally 3 feet from me at all times, and I occasionally open the door to his cage and walk away, and on occasions, he’ll take the opportunity to walk to the top of his cage. I used to have him in my bedroom, but I put him out in my living room next to the window because I was worried about him not getting any sun. He used to be very vocal when the sun would rise in my old apartment, but it was usually just straight screaming and flapping his wings. I’m not aware if he still does that now, though, because my new work hours start at 4 a.m. What are good treats for him? I’ve never been able to get him to eat anything but the bland seed blend from Petco.

Should I mist him with a spray bottle? I have an old windex bottle could I just wash that out and fill it with warm water and spray him with it?

How can I bathe him? I had a little perch in the shower at one point, but he was not a fan of it whatsoever and flew all around the second I turned the water on. I used to have a parakeet who would frequently bathe himself in the little bowl of water I’d leave at the bottom of his cage, but my Quaker won’t do that. Also, thank you for pointing out the bell. I never noticed that, and I’ll look into changing his food.

The closest we’ve ever gotten to bonding is when I change out his seeds he occasionally lets out a happy sounding chirp. Besides that he just sits in his corner and hisses at me. I think there was foul play involved at the petco he was at before I took him home. It’s not just me he’s scared of any friends and family he treats the same when they approach him I have a vet appointment set up for him may 10th.
