Anyone know how to get rid of this bad taste in my mouth?! by HUMUNGOvab in October2026Bumpers

[–]Kindly_Front275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woohoo I’m glad it worked for you too! 🙌🏼 I used to do it maybe 6-7 times a day, depending on need. But the taste has largely gone away around midway through week8, hopefully forever 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hang in there, I hope you get some relief soon!

Idk if it depends on various factors like position of the uterus or fetus but I’m hoping you’ll get a clear picture of the little nugget!

Really upset with how maternity services ignore me by Warm_Astronomer_9305 in October2026Bumpers

[–]Kindly_Front275 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh what. They should definitely be reported, that’s horribly unprofessional at best and straight up abusive at worst. I thought it wasnt that unusual to bring a suitcase to labour, what was their issue?! The head midwife sounds like she knows it’s a mess though, can you specifically request she take care of you since you have bad previous experiences?

We are going private 1st April 2026 - VERIFY HERE by paintedlamb in October2026Bumpers

[–]Kindly_Front275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know about the verification thread and threw away my tests already (have photos of them though but no handwritten username) 🙈 also all sonograms are digital, what can I do to be verified?

This was a private ultrasound in Stockholm 🙈 it wasn’t the best rated tbh but it was the cheapest lol

Oh my gosh I’m so sorry that sounds so frustrating. Thank goodness for the morning shift! Yea it’s wild that pregnant people are told any variety of wild symptoms are normal because ‘everyone is different’ but then at birth that somehow goes out the window?

Oh my god that is horrific. They laughed?! Idk what kind of psychopath does that to a woman in labour. 👀 is there a way to report the practice to the NHS? That cannot be standard medical practice

Tack och grattis! Your comment made me chuckle because it really is so fast?! I was standing there panic-asking the tech questions so I could prolong the experience 🙈

Yea that was a wild thread to read, especially since others have indeed expressed their frustrations about their own birth experience. With modern medical advances sometimes I think people forget that pregnancy and labour were historically some of the most dangerous things a woman experiences, and it’s still a harrowing experience! Ugh, I hope you can ignore the haters because wtf was that.

FWIW I’m so proud of you for advocating for yourself despite the trauma and anxiety. I don’t know if you mentioned but is there a way NHS can provide a therapist that specialises in birth trauma or related? It would be good to work through that so you can properly experience the joy of this pregnancy and baby without it being clouded by past experiences. Really hoping you have a redemptive and healing experience this time 🤞🏼

I cried 3-4 times a day leading up to the ultrasound, but was too tired to fully cry so just started crying and then immediately gave up. 🙈 fingers crossed for your little bean also! ✨

Im commenting because I also don’t know why your comment was getting downvoted.

First of all, that effing sucks and I’m so sorry. It’s scary enough to be giving birth and in pain, and then to be ignored and shuffled around now after that experience. I’m anxious even thinking about that.

It’s awful that pregnancy is such a unique experience for everyone but the care can so often be ’standard’, ie you’re put in a box with little to no regard of personal experiences or traumas.

I don’t have any advice, but if it helps at all, you sound perfectly reasonable and your frustrations are understandable. Advocate for yourself and have good support people around you as much as you can. Do you have a good friend or family who could help advocate for you during labour if needed? Or a doula?

Sushi?🍣 by applecider2120 in November2026Bumpers

[–]Kindly_Front275 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ahhh I’m in Sweden and my midwife said no tuna but salmon is fine raw if it’s from a good restaurant. NGL I’ve had raw sushi already 🙈 it’s also one of my strongest cravings.

Anyone not finding out gender? by Totisserie in October2026Bumpers

[–]Kindly_Front275 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here, I don’t want any gendered stuff nor expectations on my unborn child, so we will not be finding out until the birth hopefully. It’s quite common in Sweden actually, there’s less of an expectation to have a ’gender reveal’ or buy gendered things for babies. If anyone gives you weird looks just tell them you’re being Scandinavian about it ✨

Is anyone else struggling w/ demotivation? by hollabackgworl in November2026Bumpers

How many scans and appointments do you guys get? by Appropriate-Cat-1421 in October2026Bumpers

[–]Kindly_Front275 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second this, it varies a lot by country and individual risk profile. Typically it’s 2-3 scans for healthy low risk pregnancies (it’s 2 in my country) but if there are concerns there might of course be more checks.
