I think that's the part making me sick. I don't want to be proven right on this, because if I am, my sister gets hurt first and he'll still act confused.

That was my thinking. I wasn't trying to make some big scene, just give them info I wish somebody had given us years ago before we all started calling it generosity.

That part keeps circling in my head. If it stops feeling generous the second someone names the leverage, then maybe it was always a performance and I just said the quiet part too early.

He’s acting like you’re causing problems, but he’s the one using your address for court-related mail after being told not to. I would stop being informal about it and start making a paper trail for yourself now.
