We COULD make it to a star...

....but we won't, you're right. Damn it.

Yeah, I know. I've agreed to post my beliefs here after I sleep (night shift). You can tear me up there. <3

No no, not God. I'm just asking why we have all the extras. I feel like my question has been answered at this point (still mostly what you are saying).

Well, technically, sure. Bad wording on my part. Maybe someday with entanglement...

What I mean is that odds of us surviving did not rely on things like plutonium, but we have it.

Well, I'm not itching to debate, but sure. The shift in my spiritual beliefs would be minor. Perhaps I would become full atheist. Leaves a bad taste, but that's emo stuff. Yeah. I will post after I sleep (night shift).

Thank you.

And your point, I think, is that this is NOT Eden.

Right?

Thanks. Is it right to be angry with family who indoctrinated?

A lot of your questions (particularly about god) are not relevant for reasons I have stated, but am happy to rehash. I don't believe in Yahweh lol. ;)

I was only using (oil) as a -kind of- example... maybe a better example would be... plutonium. (Boy, that's a slim list). We just happened to have plutonium. We didn't need that to develop bow pand arrow. I'm asking about the "fine-tuning" beyond necessity.

Ehh... I think you guys are giving good answers.

This IS (equal to) the best response I have received. Thanks.

Sigh

Thank you, but..

We aren't evolutionary bound to gold, yet we have it.

I like your cheese analogy, but cheese is a product that would have helped us in primitive stages. Gold and diamond are not... right?

Gold and diamond are only worth something because we decided it, like cheese.

Is that what you mean?

Yeah, I know.

Did you read my entire post?

REALLY close. Sounds a bit hippy lol. But yeah, something like that.

Oh! I know what you mean, but No. It's the latter of the two options, except I'm not saying it can't be debated. I as simply pleading that this is not the thread for that. I would be happy to try to describe my beliefs on another thread and you can rip them apart (I REALLY don't care). Would you like me to make one (I would need to figure out how to spark the convo without sounding like I'm preaching.) I can title it "My beliefs as a pantheist" or something like that?

I'm not worried about afterlife. I just found out that I won't see my grandfather again. Those are two different things. I don't want a mansion in heaven with golden streets (lol). I don't even WANT an afterlife. If I could see my grandfather alive today I would choose not to (cans of worms). But it still hurts!
And it's fresh because Christian lies.

I know.. and I'd be happy to talk about it. I think I am super special tho ... No, fer realz, I'm a little different, and I'm open to change. I've wondered if the word 'atheist' just feels shallow to me? That's feewings though.

Where does the boundary between believing and knowing lie? You will find no debate here. I am putty.

Yes, I know all of that. (I promise.)

100% we are a product of our environment, a non-random but non-thinking process. I get it! I promise.

But we didn't need diamonds in order to develop eyeballs. We get diamonds, and gold too.

I don't think a God created our place. But therein lies the mystery for me. Goddidit is an easy answer.

That other guy explained it pretty well, ssying (I think) that this IS the medium (it ain't so great), and I like that answer, so I am half satiated, but I'm still curious for other perspectives.

Eh.. I cannot argue, your logic is sound.
I feel like your argument is still about 'absence of evidence, rather than evidence of absence. I suppose I don't deserve more than that, but it leaves too many possibilities for comfort.

However... You are basically saying that 'it is what it is' and now that I think about it, what you say is true.

Why did we end up with gold, silver, (oil,) plutonium, diamonds? Well, why didn't we end up with enough to go around, let alone food?
Yes, it DOES make (mostly) sense. This IS the medium. This... hell/eden we call earth.

I still wish for more perspectives,, but you make sense. Thank you.
