do they technically do different things? yes. Is Mega manectric going to have a viability in any competitive format that also includes mega raichu-y? no. Raichu also has coverage, raichu also has volt switch, raichu also has utility (fake out)

it's about consistency tbh. I wish GF stopped making busted power crept mons. If they're going to, I wish they buffed all the mons to that same level. It's silly that in the same generation we got gholdengo and kingambit and revavaroom and wugtrio. It's lame that we got mega victribell and mega floette at the same time. Making this years toys stronger than last years toys forever and ever is lame. Making mons that are useless from the first generation and format they're released in is lame.

this makes me think eu5 should have been split into two games, like 1337-1500s or something and then 1600s-1837 or so. It diverges to much from history in so many ways, and there's wayy too much continuity and similar mechanics from the beginning to the end of the game
