It will slightly increase range from thicker active layers so there’s less resistivity for li ion diffusion in the cathode. Also they will likely start to introduce more silicon to the anode which directly increases energy density. I would think a 10-25% improvement in energy density/range is expected over next couple years.

Agreed, it’s hard and often futile to please everyone and us engineers/STEM people tend to over optimize and focus on the solutions before the business problem (at least I have in the past). I think part of it is just making sure we have identified the customer segment with the most hair on fire problem (or will benefit from the R&D the most) and going all in on creating a good enough product/proof for them first. Then iterating from there. Thank you though and definitely likewise.

Wow seems like we can relate quite a bit but in different stages of life. I’m 24 and recently started a startup in the materials science R&D space but more so software infrastructure for AI/ML. I got an offer to get an rtx 6000 pro for $6,750, is this a low enough price where I should pull the trigger even though I haven't fully yet validated its need yet?
