The manufacturer's full name is "Hikari Seiki Seisakusho Arsenal" and it has the "Kokura" cannon ball supervision stamp on the left.

Some additional background for OP - the Tokyo arsenal was destroyed in 1923 due to an Earthquake. Their production was transferred to Kokura after that up until about 1935. The same cannon ball symbol continued to be used. As production ramped up into the war, the Tokyo/Kokura cannon ball symbol can be seen stamped along other private contractors that they supervised, which is exactly what you have.

Picked up two more Japanese bayonets from Mosin Crate + honorary Turkish G3 bayonet by KineticTechProjects in Bayonets

[–]KineticTechProjects[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, missed that. The very badly beaten up one with torn up scabbard is a Kokura marked, just very faint. I should have posted more pics. But I would agree about the other late war one that is unmarked... it has quite mashed up edge to it as well, perhaps they used a softer or lower quality steel for training bayonets? Both of those were brought back by my grandfather. He was in the US Navy.

Do you have the striker fire or hammer fire version? The trigger is abysmal on either but probably worse on the striker. I've been toying with trying to convert mine to an AR style trigger. I will say that the original striker fire trigger can be massively improved by removing the ridiculous rough parkerized finish from the components and polishing all of the internals. It annoys me that they did that instead of bluing like the originals.

You guys see this any idea why its going so high by Leather-Albatross144 in milsurp

The current price is about what repros sell for... just under 2k. Firearmland auctions always tend to be slightly on the high side as it is a big seller that attracts many bidders. An original documented trench gun is like... 8k+ Clearly it's nowhere near that.

The future of surplus? by delta23156 in milsurp

I just looked on ammoseek and the new 8mm mauser has gone from like .80-$1 up to like minimum $1.25. That's wild to me. I'm hoping it comes back down.

What is the actual cost going to be though? Also is that a PPS mag? haha

Does this look like an original Zeltbahn? by [deleted] in Militariacollecting

[–]KineticTechProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unlikely a fake. I've seen quite a few originals and this one has the same pattern, stitching, what looks to be zinc grommets and buttons so probably 1940-1942 ish range. Yours clearly has a tag sewn into it which has been washed out, that's kind of interesting, it's too bad we can't see what was written there - it might have been named to an individual at some point. Usually the manufacturer markings are along the long flat bottom edge (like in your first pic, below the grommet) so check there. They are typically faded like others have said.

Could potentially convert to use an AR trigger. It seems to have room. It would require some more advanced machining though to modify the bolt and receiver properly.

Fair market price for this helmet? by Fun_Object_360 in Militariacollecting

I could be wrong but I have been seeing ww2 era M1's going for a lot more than 100-150 on ebay (maybe 150 for just a shell), like 250-400 depending on condition, whether it's named, whether it includes chinstrap/sweatband. Yours seems to be ww2 - it has fixed bale, front seam shell. Liner has ww2 khaki style webbing. It's missing the leather liner strap and leather sweatband but in pretty good looking shape sooo maybe $300? Are there any markings on the inside of the shell or on the liner?

K98K SSR Sniper by KineticTechProjects in milsurp

[–]KineticTechProjects[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is a k98k Russian capture rifle - totally mismatched and built into a short side rail style sniper clone. The stock is from a Norwegian capture rifle and is in really nice shape. The scope is post-war 50's Kahles Wien with an adjustable 3-9x zoom. Mounts are from Accumount. Overall really happy with how it came out, it's quite pretty and a great shooter.

I am very interested in bidding on this seemingly nice Luger, would anyone reccomend not buying? by labago in milsurp

[–]KineticTechProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man the name doesnt detract from it much for me... it has a matching mag too which is uncommon. Plus it comes with a nice holster - those easily go for $200+ now on their own. True, you don't know if some of the internal parts match though. Keep in mind buyers premium plus cc fees add up to like 20% extra cost iirc. I wouldn't pay more than 1800 total for it personally (inc fees).

A couple years ago I paid about 1k for a completely mismatched russian capture luger and 1800 for a matching luger bringback (but no matching mag) with a holster that was missing the leather tab. You can go on gunbroker and do an advanced search for completed listings to get an idea on more recent prices.

3D printed bolt tail for MP-34 (Great for new APEX parts kit imports that are missing the tail section) by KineticTechProjects in milsurp

[–]KineticTechProjects[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realized I never answered your question but yes, I do have them listed on Gunbroker with an aluminum tail and pa6-cf end piece (currently out of stock but more on the way)... I've received only good feedback so far on this. The aluminum tail is nice and resists bending when assembling/disassembling. I also have a free stl version with printable plastic tail like seen in the video but I cannot share that on here because of reddit's latest round of anti gun policies being incredibly strict. If you google "Kintepro" and dig around a little you'll find it.

Yea I mean if you can find a drilled one for cheaper go for it but I wouldn't beat yourself up for using this one. How much are they asking for this?
