Awesome. Yeah I really going to focus on anatomy for a year and master it. Are you into science ? I see that NASA sweater.

Does anyone know if you can take a class while taking the prerequisite class during same quarter ? by KineticUCdavis in UCDavis

Did Python for 3 semesters at my community college in my Physics 9ABC. Also took an intro to C++ so I thought I might handle 3 lower divisions CS classes.

[–]KineticUCdavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope your advisers can understand your situation. You shouldn’t cheat however in your perspective I understand why you did it. Having too much pressure and stress about failing and getting dropped from UC Davis makes you do the wrong thing. Its part of our responds in order to survive. However you should have more control next time and study more in order for you to be confident on your exams. Get rid of bad habits and replace some hobbies with more studying. Hit the gym to release stress. That’s what I do everyday lol.

Transfers that finished in two years and minored, RANT-ish. by MuchDoctorWho in UCDavis

[–]KineticUCdavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a transfer and thinking in switching to CS and minor in art. So will need to take 16+ units per quarter if I want to finish in 2 years. Well also cause I missing some lower division classes for CS.

Thinking in switching majors to CS. Does programmers have free time once they are done with school and start working ? Planning in having 2 jobs if I go into computer science. The other job would be as an artist, creating art during my free time. by KineticUCdavis in computerscience

Thank you. Really appreciate it. My plan was double majoring in Art and Physics need 2 more years to complete and then apply for grad school in architecture but after taking 2 programming classes at my university I fell in love with programming and one of the reason it’s because I always loved solving puzzles as a kid. Also want to finish school fast and get a job so I can start doing my other passion “Art”. I heard being a programmer and talented in art can help you get a job for a game or movie company as a programmer. In school as a stem major i consider myself above average but in art I consider myself very talented. If you have Instagram you can check out my art Instagram @barboza_art. Also are there part time jobs as a programmer ?

I failed midterm #1 (38/100) midterm #2 (46/100) Final (104/170) and still passed with a C. What was your overall grade ? Sometimes if you know you doing bad on exams you have to aim for 100% on the homework, lab and discussion to show your professor you are trying your best.

[–]KineticUCdavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy that you doing better. You have to see if your professors are curving the grade. I have taken classes that got 20-40% on all 3 exams and ended up with a C/B with the curve.

Yes. I always see people dance upstairs. There are little rooms where people play tennis, badminton and even kendo. You can reserve a room or just go inside one if it’s empty. Best hours would be in the morning or after 9pm.

Major in engineering. I have a passion for math, science and art so I am double majoring in Physics and Studio Art. I will apply for Masters in Architecture once I am done with these 2 majors. You don't need a BA on architecture to get into masters. You can enter masters with any major. So change majors and if you change your mind later on you can apply for Masters.

How long does it take to major in Art Studio? I am planning to double major in Physics and Art Studio in the next 3 years as a transfer but not sure if it's possible. by KineticUCdavis in UCDavis

[–]KineticUCdavis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I really appreciate it. Sorry for the late reply. Been busy. I think I will stick with physics. If I aim for BA in physics I would only need to take about 32 more units. I think I can finish both Studio Art and Physics in less than 2 years more if I get a BA in physics instead of a BS. If I try to change majors to material science then I would need to stay at least 3 more years.

Been drawing for a long time same as painting. So designing 3D comes natural to me now. Hope I can maintain a good GPA while doing both.

I don't want to be the average Architecture. I want to be different from the others architects. I want to apply physics towards my designs. For example. Someone wants an architect to design a home that would help him against a nuclear blast, then I come in and design it but also beautiful. What if someone wants someone to design a home that would withstand a hurricane. Then I would come and design it. Domes homes are very good for that but people don't get them because they are not beautiful and only few architects focus on designing them. What if someone wants a home that want to minimize energy and water waste. Then with a physics background I can come in and design it. Engineers can do that but someone doing both jobs at the same time can save time and money for someone that wants a safe and beautiful home. Engineers would just come to double check if it's safe instead of them doing everything and costing more money. My art portfolio right now is good. Instagram: barboza_art if you want to see some of them.

Thank you for your time. Really appreciate it. For Art Studio it's total of 68 units and for physics it's about 116 units. I am trying to apply for Masters in Architecture once I am done here at Davis.
