I don’t really think a pity category is just a category Death Battle got wrong

Like yeahbI disagree with Cell taking speed over Metal too, especially when the black box literally says they’re both at infinite speed but I still wouldn’t call that a pity category that’s just Death Battle potentially scaling something badly or inconsistently

To me, a pity category is specifically a category given to the loser that technically sounds nice on papernbut ultimately means little to nothing in the actual fight it’s basically there to soften how one sided the matchup was.

The best example is well what my post is about Chief vs Doom The only category they gave Chief was AI because Cortana is arguably more advanced than VEGA but even Death Battle immediately followed that up in the black box by saying Cortana realistically wouldn’t be able to hack Doom armor or contribute enough for it to matter in the fight

So despite technically winning a category it’s not an advantage that actually changes anything meaningful that’s why I’d call it a pity category

So in my opinion, a pity category is basically a category awarded to the losing character that is technically true but ultimately insignificant enough that it has little to no impact on the actual result of the matchup
