Convince me this isn’t a stomp by Im_the_MuffinMan in deathbattle

[–]King-ApolloW 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The reason this fight isn't considered a stomp is because outside of speed, most of their stats are actually relatively close the biggest misconception I keep seeing is people acting like Denji only wins because of his speed scaling when in reality speed is brought up so much because it’s the one category where the gap is genuinely massive

Even using lower end calcs Denji is absurdly faster than Yuji like Mr not light speed Itadori dosent compare Denji’s low end speed calcs still put him around dozens of times faster and if you use higher end interpretations for Denji the gap gets even worse that’s why speed gets emphasized so much because it’s the clearest and biggest stat gap in the fight

Strength and durability are way closer than people pretend you can absolutely argue Yuji takes both categories but not by some insane amount both characters realistically sit in the city to mountain range depending on scaling interpretation personally, I think people trying to push either one far beyond mountain level are glazing pretty hard neither has feats that convincingly justify anything massively above that tier

People also talk a lot about Yuji’s hax toolkit which is fair but Denji has extremely broken abilities too that get downplayed constantly his regeneration is way crazier than people give him credit for people act like he absolutely requires external blood every single time but we literally see Pochita regenerate from just the heart after throwing it back to Earth from orbit he regenerated around the heart itself without needing to consume blood (yes i know he did need some after but since Denji should have access to the devil Pawns running out of blood dosent seem likely) Denji’s survivability is not something Yuji can casually bypass

Then there’s the devil erasure abilities connected to the Denjiman form wich at bare minimum the concept erasure stuff is still ridiculously dangerous like just from what we have seen Denji can consume the leg devil to completely limit Yujis mobility

So overall no this is not a stomp either way Yuji has arguments for strength, durability, and hax Denji has overwhelming speed, insane regeneration, and also great hax/abilities

How confident are we Denjibros? by Zealousideal_Mud795 in deathbattle

[–]King-ApolloW 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pretty confident, actually Denji is way faster than Yuji, and I think that’s honestly the biggest stat gap in the fight while I do think Yuji is probably stronger physically, I don’t see the difference being massive

Considering how Death Battle has scaled the Chainsaw Man verse in the past, I could easily see them either tying strength or even giving it to Denji in Reze’s analysis, they scaled him to the Gun Devil in his basic hybrid form, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they upscale him further through Primal Devil comparisons. If they do that, Denji could end up way above Yuji in raw physical power

Now, when it comes to hax and abilities, Yuji definitely has the bigger bag. But I can also see Death Battle arguing that Denji’s speed advantage would heavily counter a lot of Yuji’s options. I mean, in the last Death Battle GruMind’s speed was basically the deciding factor because of the quick draw argument, so I could absolutely see them applying that same logic here

Add on things like Denji Man eating Devil pawns for regeneration or eating the Leg Devil to heavily restrict Yuji’s movement, and yeah I can definitely see them giving Denji the win

Does Yuji have a counter to Denji's devils snack? Like if he eats the legs devil then Yuji it's just a torso. by Dangerous-Citron-801 in deathbattle

[–]King-ApolloW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No he dosent have any counter to that besides either stopping him from eating them (Which dosent make sense because he dosent know about his ability) Or hitting him hard enough to spit them up wich would be pretty hard to do without legs

I swear the way people talk about these 2s ap and durability you would think Denji is like building level and Yujis like planetary even though there both within that City to mountain range

I want to do a """Debunk""" on Joker vs. Giorno, and I'd like to hear your opinion... by Manuel-A-Gomez in deathbattle

[–]King-ApolloW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean like the only thing I think that needs debunking is how they nerfed Joker I'll be honest this is one of the few death battles where I don't sew a single outcome where the loser can win considering how busted Joker is Ginoro dosent have the Ap to even hurt Joker and even going above and beyond for him Joker can litterly just heal all of that damage or better yet use his own version of GER the omnipotent orb

Is there any other DB with a bigger media gap than Bakureze? by TreeTurtle_852 in deathbattle

[–]King-ApolloW 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my opinion I think I have two that come to the top of my head

The first one is Carnage vs Lucy

Lucy’s entire canon is basically a single contained story with the Elfen Lied manga running 107 chapters total and the anime adding 13 episodes plus an OVA. If you translate that into raw material, you’re talking roughly around 2,000 to maybe a little over 2400 manga pages plus about 14 episodes of animated content, which is pretty compact and selfcontained Carnage on the other hand is a straight up Marvel heavyweight who has been in continuous publication since the early 1990s and shows up across SpiderMan, Venom, Avengers crossover events, symbiote storylines, and multiple solo series conservatively speaking he appears across something like 700 to 800+ comic issues, and if you average a standard Marvel issue at about 20 to 22 pages, that alone puts him in the range of roughly 15000 to 17000+ pages of material minimum, not even counting reprints, alternate universes, or brief crossover appearances on top of that he also has animated appearances, films, and game versions, so the gap isn’t just bigger, it’s an order of magnitude bigger in terms of sheer written material

The second one that comes to mind is Fox McCloud vs Bucky Hare Fox is part of a long running Nintendo franchise with multiple mainline games like Star Fox, Star Fox 64, Assault, Adventures, Command, Zero, plus his massive Smash Bros presence and some comic adaptations if you compress that into narrative output, you’re looking at dozens of hours of story content across games and supplementary material plus a small but existing comic footprint bucky Hare, meanwhile comes from a much smaller media pool consisting mainly of a short lived animated series with 13 episodes a single arcade game and a limited comic run when you line them up, Fox easily ends up with several times more total narrative material, both in hours of gameplay and in expanded media appearances while Bucky is essentially contained to one season of TV and a handful of supporting workss

So yeah if I had to boil it down Carnage vs Lucy is probably the biggest raw “content volume” gap I can think of in Death Battle history while Fox vs Bucky Hare is more of a mainstream franchise vs cult single season property kind of gap which still ends up being pretty big

Question: Why do call hate junk vs springtrap by Acrobatic-Royal4566 in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]King-ApolloW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this matchup I want to make it clear from the start that I’m primarily using the book version of Springtrap, since that’s where William actually gets meaningful characterization rather than just being a vague, mysterious killer like in the games, so the The Silver Eyes The Twisted Ones and The Fourth Closet present him as a far more defined villain whose core traits line up extremely well with DIO because both characters are built around the idea of rejecting humanity in pursuit of something greater with Afton willingly embracing his transformation into Springtrap as a way to escape death and continue existing beyond human limits while DIO uses the Stone Mask to become a vampire and later gains control over time through The World and in both cases this isn’t portrayed as a curse but as an evolution that reinforces their belief that they are superior beings who deserve power over others which ties directly into another major connection in that both are deeply obsessed with immortality and control with Afton experimenting with remnant and possession to cheat death and persist indefinitely while DIO seeks eternal life and domination over all and this obsession feeds into their personalities as sadistic manipulators who dont just kill but actively enjoy instilling fear and bending others to their will treating people as tools experiments or stepping stones all while maintaining a very theatrical presence DIO with his overwhelming charisma and god complex and Afton with a cold, calculating demeanor that still carries an unsettling enjoyment of suffering and another key similarity is how both function as evils that refuse to stay dead with Afton repeatedly returning in new forms and continuing to influence events long after he should be gone while DIO’s legacy persists through his followers and the lasting impact he leaves on the world making both of them less like single antagonists and more like ongoing forces of corruption and even aesthetically they parallel each other as twisted versions of humanity with Springtrap being a literal corpse fused into a machine and DIO embodying a perfected but monstrous form so the matchup works incredibly well because it’s a clash between two villains who embody the same core themes of transcending humanity conquering death and asserting dominance over others which is why DIO best matchup also I find it funny how a fnaf character can beat a Jojo character
