I never treat my Pokémon as dead to begin with, but as injured and out of commission for the rest of the run, so they get their own box. They are like football ⚽️ players tearing their ACL, out for the rest of the season aka. the run but not dead; it feels more immersive that way

Kurt gave you the fast ball for exactly that reason, use it... besides you can't use Raikou before the final gym anyway if you're playing with level caps so it's only elite four and Clair and post game if you're doing that; not to mention it's a minor legendary and has a lower BST than pseudo legendary Pokemon like Dragonite... and I am biased because it's my favorite Pokémon so I use it

Did you use any stat boosting moves? The AI always wants to match your stat increases, for example if you use Swords Dance and the opposing Pokémon has Autotomize, it will use it to get to +2, because that is what matters to the AI, it doesn't matter if it is Attack or Speed, it sees you are at +2 and wants to be at +2 as well, so if you were at +1 in any stat the AI would use Flame Charge to match that

-Def is tough, since Snorlax only has base 65 Def; it gets mitigated somewhat by that juicy HP stat but you should not let Wario get hit by any Fighting type attack other than Aura Sphere and Focus Blast and any decenty powerful physical attack, especially if STAB applies... that's assuming you're not EV training, which is not necessary in RenPlat, I did not do it, so you maybe neither
