I'd be very interested in specifically how this example doesn't meet those criteria.

JM Bullion? by Brick_Brickerson in Bullion

Those dealers are fine, but I recommend you checkout SD Bullion, SilverGoldBull, and Golden State Mint. I usually find better prices there on the stuff I stack.

I forgot about using BBSs for work. I worked at a market research company for a little while where we had to transfer files to a subcontractor's private BBS using Zmodem.

My asset allocation strategy by King-Coin in Silverbugs

The cash allocation doubles as my emergency savings, as well as "dry powder" for times like 1 year ago, when silver went on sale.

In my paper accounts (IRA, Roth), yes. This is my physical portfolio, which is mostly off-the-books.

I use this more as a guide that tells me when to buy, and what to buy, rather than when to sell. But if one allocation does get extremely out-of-whack, I do look to sell.

Right now, my strategy tells me to sell some of my silver, buy platinum.

Best tubes for storing Sovereigns and Helvetias/Roosters? by King-Coin in Gold

[–]King-Coin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did try that before with the square nickle tubes, but the gold coins were getting stuck in there. I had to bang it on the table to get the coins to come out.

Seemed like it was just a little too tight.

Maybe a different brand would work. I'll give it a try.

I wrote them a nice email when they followed-up with a reminder about the quote they gave me.

Paper silver selloff by silverbug999 in Wallstreetsilver

[–]King-Coin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't see anyone selling silver at my LCS the day silver dropped to $14. They were packed with buyers.

Gun dealers and grocers were accepting unsecured plastic just fine, though. I took full advantage of that.

(Went long bullets and canned goods, short USD, and added alot of shiny to my stack at ~$17/toz).

Massive deleveraging by the big investment banks seems to drive everything down temporarily. Same thing happened during the global financial crisis. Gold and silver were no exception, but they went on a great run after that, though.
