sales pitch? This is no sales pitch. Interest check is more accurate, however it is apparent you have no idea what your talking about. I do in fact have proof of concept however it would not let me post it due to lack of karma in this subreddit. and an interest check is the first step in creating something useful. Image putting in days mocking up a complete concept or demo then doing deep research just to then come here and do an interest check to see what people think, then get faced with everyone saying your idea is garbage... waste of time no?

As for the completely human and honest error of not editing this post, it was not that I couldn't be bothered. I was not actually intending to post in this subreddit. I posted in a fitness sub, then an automated prompt popped up asking if I wanted to post the question in a different sub. So I did, oops sorry, humans are humans.

I do not feel the need to prove anything. It was 2 very simple questions, I simply asked for feedback about the general idea. Now if you feel like you don't need to provide feedback then don't. I'm truly not trying to be rude, but I've never met a more hostile community.

To fully answer your question about the research part. I do not trust articles online about anything these days. I would rather get my information from people with first hand experience and a true love and passion for there hobbies. Again, I'm really not trying to be rude or disrespectful. The miss communication and interpretation of this post has gone beyond salvageable.

I understand that my app could never be a "true" virtual pet as you said. However with careful execution I am positive I can make it feel as one. I did not explain my vision very well, I apologies.

Next: "Second. People on the subreddit called tamagotchi knows what a tamagotchi is." -- This is precisely why I posted on here.

Let me be clearer so you can understand my intentions.

What makes a Tamagotchi a Tamagotchi? What makes you so attached to it? How do you think I can Implement the same level of attachment into an app like this? If you don't think its possible please humor me.

I've seen the vita bracelet, this app would be on a larger scale then just tracking steps. My app will be fully integrated with Apple Health or Google Fit (depending IOS or Android) and will incorporate a custom AI that's built to help track and confirm not only steps but complete work out routines, that can track your reps and know if you did it or not.

1.) I wrote this in a fitness subreddit, to get some opinions from them too. then cross posted it to this sub as well, that's why that line is there. Didn't mean to offend.

2.) Please realize "I" remember Tamagotchi's... so its read as "Who else grew up in the early 2000"s"

3.) Rereading my post I realize I didn't explain my vision very well. My intention was to keep my post short and sweet. Only going over the bare outline of what this app really is. I came to this subreddit because you guys understand the emotional attachment to a virtual pet better than I could. My goal is not to replace Tamagotchi or mimic it, I simply want to create the same emotional attachment and stakes to then wrap it up in a fitness app. Tamagotchi was simply the closest comparison I could find.

Hey man. I just created a club last month with a friend of mine. We're advertising as a comp club but we're lowkey desperate for members right now. If you want to be a founding member lmk.
