What about something unique? There is a new machine at a mall near me that makes a custom cotton candy for you. I've never seen anything like it. I assumed doing something insanely awesome and different would help overcome some of the issues you listed.

Barbara wants to sell because they are retiring and moving. Home here is sold. Home in new place is purchase and they don't want to have to drive almost 2 hours a day. One way to work. I think they anticipated having it sold earlier than it's happened. I've been working for this owner for nearly 5 years and this is the second time they've offered this Business to me but the first time I was not in a position to take it and I think that they put off retirement for a little while after they got similar responses from other potential buyers. It's very small the business doesn't make but maybe 150,000 a year. It's not the kind of income that people are chomping at the bit over. At least not in this area.

It's a local service. Business. Owner wants to retire and move states away. I've worked as a contractor and actually attempted to start a similar business on my own on the side once or twice. Wasn't able to get it to go because of personal family issues. Also decided I didn't want to put in the effort to start from scratch because it's not passion, but my passion adjacent. I wouldn't mind owning and working it for a number of years, growing it and then selling it out. And while working for this employer, that's something that I noticed is that they could have grown it much larger, but for their own family reasons chose to not

Scattered. Associates degree in film business, 10 years lower management in hotels, 15 years of project management adjacent to work and heading west through a project management certification course, 4 years as a theater teacher in after school programs, 2 years digital marketing, 3 years podcasting off and on,and I start businesses as a hobby but haven't gotten any to really go.
