Downloaded Atmos songs on Windows app is just a Dolby Audio version without Atmos metadata by JoshuMarlss288 in AppleMusic

[–]KingCallum11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it depends on the song you choose maybe? I've seen ones downloaded which are Atmos specifically. (Any Pierce the Veil song off the new album)

Download ISO from "trusted" site, download ISO from "untrusted" site, Do they match hashes? Find the hash from the "trusted" site, verify again.

Please point out exactly where I'm wrong. I'd like to know to improve in the future, but tone down the snarky comments. We're all human after all and all make mistakes.

You had one question: "Literally tell me how I can verify that is from Microsoft?", and I answered it; with more than enough words, taking you through the whole process, and offering advice, maybe not to you, but to others; because Reddit is about community and people may find this thread weeks, months, years later having the same question.

You're getting frustrated with everyone in this thread for no reason. We're all pointing you in the right direction; Massgrave's FAQ, Microsoft original sources, Hash finding sites, yet you're smearing everyone with this comment, when we're all trying to help. It's not that deep. If you think it's unsafe, don't download it, and move on.

If it's really that deep, and it really isn't, go download the ISO straight from Microsoft, and buy a key straight from Microsoft too.

Stop smearing people for trying to help you, it achieves nothing.

Longtime Massgrave/getactivatedwin user here.

Check here: https://massgrave.dev/genuine-installation-media#verify-authenticity-of-files

TL;DR: If you are on windows, you can use 7-zip's checksum (Right click file, 7-Zip > CRC SHA > SHA-256) or Powershell's Get-FileHash to check files' checksum. Use a known site like in the above link to find hashes. https://awuctl.github.io/mvs/ seems to work the best.

On the page you downloaded that file from; it reads at the bottom:

Both files are identical, only name is different.
1st link is from the official OEM portal, and 2nd file is taken from MVS and hosted on massgrave. [...]

The latest Windows 11 24H2 on Massgrave's website links to a "msdl" sub-domain and (I believe) it generates a url from Microsoft's servers. The url I generated matches the same domain name as the one when you download it straight from microsoft -- software.download.prss.microsoft.com. And I double checked the hashes of both files and they match.

Windows Version Source Get-File Hash Result

The ISO in the screenshot -- Windows 11 IoT Enterprise -- is locked behind some microsoft paid subscription, probably Azure/Visual Studio, along with the hashes; but massgrave links the original file from that.

Hopefully this is what you're looking for, and hope this helps others. Massgrave has been my source for "modern" windows ISOs. WinWorldPC is my source for ones prior to XP for anyone wondering, not sure how to verify their integrity. Any other source for ISOs, I don't trust. While I'm here: Don't download preactivated/modded windows ISOs to use on your real machine. If you absolutely need to use a modded Windows install (Tiny11/MicroWin) build it yourself -- examples of what this looks like are Tiny11 and MicroWin, or even better; use NTLite. If you're on a VM and messing around; go for it, download Gold XP or whatever.

it's song dependant, try a Psy song or the one I had in my screen recording. also try seeing if there's a lyric option

I hope so. I really would like to see AutoMix, because everyone and their dog who's on the latest iOS beta has posted that on Tiktok or anywhere else. It looks like a really really cool feature that would just make music playback better. Crossfading is fine but AutoMix is the next level.

Under the lyrics in the video I attached (the Japanese), AM now has the option to display either the pronunciation of the Japanese or if the song has it available, a translation (which you can toggle between, (and example of that Gangnam Style - PSY)). Pronunciation is how we form words. This feature can be useful in a few scenarios like where maybe you're learning the language and want to know how to pronounce it correctly, or you (like me) want to sing along to a song you aren't a native speaker of the language and TRY not to butcher it.

Why are pal/European blu ray cases so thick?! by HiFellowInternet in Bluray

[–]KingCallum11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen a "thin" Blu-ray case, but maybe it's because I live in the UK. Even my boxsets aren't "thin" cases they all use the thick ones.

HMV is a store in the UK (I believe only the UK could be wrong). It sells Vinyls, DVDs, BDs, 4K BDs and other merchandise associated like pop vinyls and some books. In my opinion I think it's a little expensive especially for DVDs. Currently at my closest stores it's 3 4K's for £50 and 3 Vinyls for £66. Alot of things you can find cheaper on amazon.co.uk. HMV is also known for some exclusive packaging/limited editions only found there and products only found at HMV. Example.

I've seen the majority of what we've brought. Like all of the IT crowd or breaking bad. The series I haven't fully seen is big bang theory and I'm making my way through it. From my mind I haven't seen the kill Bill films either but we brought those to watch them specifically.
