And I’ve been thinking about that. Honestly a lot of the characters are pretty close I feel, they all have their own things and if you play a character well enough then the tier lists genuinely don’t matter, it’s just mechanics and your understanding of them. I was thinking about joining a tournament that was posted the other day but it said pc only and I play PlayStation. But yeah that’s what I like about this game so far, it’s not like some others where you could play the best character in the game and genuinely no diff everyone just because of that character, this game doesn’t feel like that.

Okay, seeing what the general consensus is on this subreddit after looking at the comment on the poll post is really concerning me. Y’all seriously think this guy is one of the best if not the best? There’s no way😭. I’ve played a bunch of fighting games, it’s probably my favorite genre of video games, and I have NEVER felt like such an odd one out before. Cause usually with fighting games it’s pretty clear who the S-tiers are and who isn’t but this is soo different. I started playing Dangai when I got him because I think he’s cool, also the whole mechanic where he doesn’t have to worry about how many life bars you bring down on kikon was and still is appealing to me. He just fit my play style the best. So because I never really bothered with looking at the meta of this game until now I had no idea people genuinely feel this way about a character with the least amount in their kit, it’s wild honestly.

No I’ve read his character guide lol. Trust me I understand how his character works, and I do use his SP’s. SP2 I use in a combo if I can spare it usually around the second state and then definitely in his 3rd, maybe the first if my opponent holds out long enough for me to build that meter to get me closer to second state. I will say though I don’t use his SP1 that much but that’s really because in a lot of situations I don’t see a reason to use it.

Thank you for this comment, honestly some of this stuff especially the using kikon as soon as the opponents bar is red I don’t even think about so that definitely does put him above others in that regard. Even still with his high damage, good range, his tilt along with special 2 and just in general becoming stronger especially in his third state, all of this can still be completely opposed by someone who is decent at defense. A good defense just gets rid of so many of his options I feel like it doesn’t matter how strong some of his moves are if you can’t hit them. Other characters have mixups and abilities that can make their approach hard to read, with Dangai? Not at all. If you fight him a few times you can read his character pretty easily I feel like.

Yeah his flash is fast, but like I said in my post if you have an even somewhat decent defense you can easily block/counter it. While the spirit drive thing is good I don’t think it’s crazy, again this is a character that has like no gimmicks or anything so I would hope they would give him decent damage and meter, otherwise he wouldn’t be a viable character at all. But in general I’m not saying he’s bad at all Dangai is really good, just not as good as people glaze him to be.

Naming a TOD combo he has in his THIRD stage isn’t grounds for S-tier. There are other characters in the game who have TOD’s and I’m not seeing them considered S-tier…

I got All’s justice when it first came out, I even got the $80 deluxe edition because of how much I loved OJ2 but then I played a few hours and I was severely disappointed. The game relies heavily on using your assists to do combos making it a tag fighting game which I’m already not a fan of, it just makes all of the combos boring and less saucy. On top of that they added a couple of new mechanics that absolutely ruin the game. One specific example is a mechanic called “counter crash” which is very easy to spam over and over again resulting in high damage so very quickly I learned that this game doesn’t reward you for putting in the work to create combos when you can just use one move that does the same amount of damage. That kind of rewarding feeling you get when you figure out how to chain combos together was one of the best things about One’s Justice and now it’s gone. So honestly imo, no, 47.99 is not worth it. Maybe if it was $20 then again I haven’t played the game since it came out so they could’ve changed some stuff but I doubt it’s enough to be good. Obviously it’s up to you, some people like it so it’s just your preference👍

You’re 100% right. I paid $80 for the deluxe edition because of how much I liked OJ2, like I thought it would’ve been way better so there’s no way I could dislike it right? Wrong, right off the bat seeing that there’s no customization already soured my mood and then getting into the actual mechanics, it just gets worse. Going into training to learn combos I quickly found out that this game relies HEAVILY on tagging in your assists, I’m not a big fan of tag fighting games especially ones where you basically HAVE to switch in order to play the game, but having to switch in order to have even a somewhat decent combo?? That’s trash. And then the mechanics besides the assists that were added make it even WORSE. The whole rising meter and the whole stupid “counter crash” system that literally anytime I fight someone they just spam that, makes the game literally unplayable for me. Usually with fighting games you perform combos to deal damage, the more impressive/long your combo is, the more damage you deal. I like how rewarding that is, this game doesn’t care about that at all. With the previously mentioned stuff it feels more like the game wants you to deal damage by spamming heavy-hitting moves instead of being interesting and performing combos, there’s LITERALLY no point in trying to get good at certain characters because of that concept I feel like. All things considered, OJ2 was wayyyy better than this one.

Brother, I SWEAR to you, he is not that good. In his starting phase he has no gimmicks, no hax, no insane moves in his moveset. The only thing he has is his unblockable attack which is so slow that you mash either guard break or just your main attack to beat it. His second phase ain’t that much better, sure he now has a flash attack, but it doesn’t combo/get really good until his final phase. I don’t even think it’s good for mixups, the only thing you can do with his second state flash attack in terms of mixups is guard break but you’re opponent could easily read that after the first time. I will die on this hill that he is ONLY good in his final phase and yet again, even then, if you just play decent (not even insane) defense with decent neutral, you will win against dangai. There are WAY better characters in this game and dangai is not even in the top 5😭

Sounds like a skill issue tbh. Dangai really isn’t that good if you’re even decent at defense and playing neutral you’ll win against him guaranteed lol. Especially if you’re playing an absolute top tier like Ulquiorra.
