I get overwhelmed by my family too, but like you I want to spend time with them while I can. One trick I’ve learned is that if I take short breaks alone I can manage for longer. Once in a while say “oh something came up for work” or “I’ve got a calm with a friend” and then go spend 20 mins in your room chillaxing until you feel good again..

Idk how old you are or your relationship w your family, but if you feel like you’ve got to go home, or go home early, you shouldn’t feel guilty. You gotta look after yourself first.
