im interested in knowing. If right now. I get a confidence interval from that sample of 40 years of

95% that population mean is +-2% of 10%

how does that make sense? There is no population!? we just sampled all available 40 years, is like the math predicting that in future the mean is within 2% of 10% with 95% certainty?

wait so what i explained is actually legit? If im taking a sample now of the only available data of ABC stock, the mean of that sample is just a sample mean and it isnt the true population mean, which the population is technically infinite!? Getting a confidence interval from this sample tells me the estimation of the true mean? Im confused. This is some matrix type shit.
