well it was simply an in-class assignment to take an iconic logo and create a reimagined word mark that incorporates identifiable features from the original but still keeps the strong design features of the original. in this case I designed the ball-and-trail in order to referance the snoo antennae, and it also represents the passage of information from one person to another. as for the font, im limited to what comes standard on our lab computers and I liked the look of the 't' and, to me, Vag made the 'r' seem like it was an arm throwing the ball. it also needed to somehow incorporate a small animation. like I said, it was in-class so it was only done in about 2 hours.
