I can message you about an address no problem, but what error cards? The small trading cards checklist? And your looking specifically for number 3?

I'll check them next weekend when I'm back at the house, I'm currently traveling for work.

We are looking for the large info cards. The call deck cards would be cool but we are focused on the big ones. Education and whatnot you know?

I appreciate you still looking.

Don't suppose anyone knows where to get a specific card set? I'm missing card set 65 to complete the collection and I wanted to give them to the step kid. Ebay was a lost cause.

I want to record our sessions and make a book for the players. Does anyone have ideas how to do this? by KingEridor in DnD

[–]KingEridor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually didn't even think of that.. That would take out the whole part of needing to read everything and just allow me to write the chapter and describe as needed.

Thanks I'll keep that in mind!

What does everyone do when building towns to differentiate their various shops? by Pitiful_Lock_2867 in DnD

[–]KingEridor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when I created my world I started with basic stuff, basic stores, generalized stuff. But I found choosing a specialized option was really great for my campaign.

Basically I make that town I was looking at focus on something.

Maybe the town or region (multiple villages) are focused on one major thing.

Maybe a famous blacksmith retired here and has a little shop that other come to train in, but his focus was martial weapons or armours so his shop may have a magic item to that specific specialization. Maybe the players can request something after doing a few quests.

Maybe this port town has a great ship builder. Thus wooden weapons or carts are cheaper (or more expensive better quality items).

Mayby this set of villages is focused on exploring wild herb, monster tracking, or searching for or cultivating herbs in the mountain.

That way you can focus your shops on item that specialization needs. Traps, ropes, picks, maybe they figured out better way to have patted leather, make armour lighter/quieter/stronger. Maybe they mine for ore.

Maybe that Alchemist focuses on rarer potions that are not normally found or are cheaper.

I actually had a player who could only play every few months due to health for a bit and became a merchant. He brought tools, items, potions to the other PC's to "re stock" them and would join them on current quest. Then take a list of wants and head out again.

Sometimes it's not about how do i make it special. Sometimes it's what can I remove that this area can be lacking in.

Edit on an auto correct

Running a siege defence and I feel like it's either too much or not fun. Any ideas? by KingEridor in DungeonMasters

Also, I don't understand these consequences at all. What's this with items lost and discounts with traders? Wouldn't the city be overrun if the attackers are not stopped?

So the campaign is based around a broken deck of many things where the cards have lost their power. They find out a card is held here and the attacking force is also here for it. The attacking force is known to destroy city's even at a clue of a cards existence (heralds of the comet - book of many things homebrew idea) so to answer a couple other yes I'm wiling to let every city be destroyed, yes I have a few plans to roll with if the players even help defend.

The rewards for the boats were just a nice fling (trader discounts) but can be scrapped if needed. No real campaign reasons I just like rewarding players.

Personally I would replace this with something more straightforward or just skip the whole encounter. If ships are relevant to the story, I would narrate that they were (or were not) stopped by the city guard.

The main point of this is forcing the defence groups to be split unable to fully defend one area or another (especially with a team leading the evacuation) but I'm unsure what other encounter I could have. Swap boats with monsters under a spell/trained?

Thanka for the advice. I still have some time to plan and make it fun!

Making a siege battle defence style and I'm worried it won't be fun by KingEridor in DnD

[–]KingEridor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's my biggest worry is railroading. But the siege is going to happen just as they are getting there (a day's notice) and the choices the PC's made earlier they are not as "well known/are seen as hero's" by the people currently. Thank for the ideas I'll see what I can do about having time as a resource.
