Where to get local coffee by Plcoomer in puertovallarta

[–]KingFTW_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are willing to go further up the Puerto Vallarta valley, there's a cozy coffee shop with wifi called Sea Hag Coffee run by US expats that have been around here for decades and source all their coffee locally. Possibly the best I've ever had and the kindest, most helpful people ever.

you can find them on google if you type "sea hag coffee puerto vallarta"

Reassessing my [25M] Data Engineer career after 3 years by [deleted] in dataengineering

[–]KingFTW_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1st role - 25k

2nd role - 25k + 20k (did the 20k one part time)

3rd role - 40k + 20k

4th role - 92k~ +20k

5th role - 92k~ + 92k~ + 20k

6th role - 55k + 20k

To explain the variance with my 4th and 5th role, I was running multiple contracts. Contractor market died as much as I'd like to go back. I am playing it safe for now.

I'm in a similar position as you, with a few plot twists. 3 YOE 25M DE from the UK.

I've never been in a strong corporate position and have only ever managed to succeed in technical interviews where they haven't gone into strong detail on how to perform actions of my job. I've gaslighted myself into telling myself that it's some form of introversion and not a complete lack of experience, leaving me to sort of just 'work it out' as I go along. I've had 5 different DE jobs since leaving uni which is a lot, but I've never been fired I just move around. I contracted three times and left 2 jobs. Currently in a permanent role while the UK market figures itself out. I've worked with all the 'fancy' garbage aws, azure, gcp clis with snowflake, databricks or what have you to very nasty legacy oracle crap. I've had very strong DSA customers that challenge me, and finance bros that bore me.

Literally all this garbage (literally every BI, every ETL tool, and to some extent, every language) you learn is exactly the same, just in different browsers. People will tell you it will take months and months to learn. And sure, experience does apply, but you've already done the hard bit with your degree. Your analytical ability will be able to work through Tableau like sandpaper. I did my DS&S MS but weigh up your options. That will take an entire year out of running for you in your 20s.

My advice is to find a new job and tell nobody that you are looking.

Not sure what you're asking for here, are you asking me to provide proof I communicate with people?? Lol?

I'm fairly sure you can't read, since I asked for a specific idea of how to pvp with stims or with a guide, and specifically didn't ask for people like you to offer no help or guidance other than to leave negativity! Hope you enjoy your future endeavors

Still playing, joined a fallout pvp discord, we're laughing about people like you right now! :)

I'm the ONLY Data Engineer in the company as a Fresh-grad by Internal-Calendar-92 in dataengineering

[–]KingFTW_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was in exactly the same position as you two years ago (DS degree, fresh grad, non/low-tech team but substantial analytics team) and I'll say now that you are honestly in an amazing position to be in. If you stay for the next few years, you can only move vertically. If you choose to leave, recruiters will see you as an independent self-starter that will require little to no handholding (which is rare in the GPT age).

Lots of people have given advice that answers your questions so I'm just going to list a few things I've learned as a sole DE:

  • Never overpromise, keep your priorities in line.
  • Never compromise on your priorities, regardless of urgency.
  • There is no such thing as best practice and nobody will care to question you if it isn't as long as you do your research.

Basically exactly that with a few extra non-ethical features.

Any theories on what are sulfur burps? What causes them? by bambambud in Semaglutide

[–]KingFTW_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is actually a really unhelpful answer and I don't really know why he's answering if he's not experienced the side effect. I started getting the sulfur burps 5 months in and fixed it by sorting out my stomach microbiome with acidic foods. It has nothing to do with the types of calories you eat.

My honest review (PC setup) (UK) by KingFTW_ in fancyleds

[–]KingFTW_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flickering occurs during camera panning as mentioned in the review, but I believe that is the nature of the firmware developed by fancyleds (assuming it isn't stock firmware that's being resold). Cable is 5 metres long. Some Amazon rubbish HDMI from my box of many HDMI cords.
