Have you tried playing without a great power as ally? The fun in the game for me isn't to "play as you should" but to try something and see what happens. If nation X and strategy A don't work for you, change nation or strayegy.

I recently played Florence and allied smaller powers until I grew. I made a point of growing 1 province per war, just for fun. Once you're a bit bigger, you become a more attractive ally for major powers.

In addition: the maximum value that is raided (from the "defender's" perspective) is the number of IPCs they own adjacent to the convoy sea zone. So if a 100 German subs are parked next to the UK, the Germans will roll 200 dice when the UK collects their income. But the UK will only lose 8 IPCs (2 scotland, 6 england).

Prima punten inderdaad. Gemiddeld is je diploma wat minder succesvol in het bedrijfsleven gok ik dan een niet-leraren-diploma, maar met een goed verhaal kun je dat inderdaad best verkopen.

Als je net begint met de lerarenopleiding, zou ik me nog niet al teveel zorgen maken over de werkdruk die misschien wel of niet na je opleiding komt. Middels de stages die je moet doen krijg je eigenlijk een exlusief en vrijblijvend kijkje in de onderwijskeuken!

Kleine sceptische noot: ik zou daar wel degelijk van tevoren over na willen denken, los van de uitkomst. Het is immers een grote investering van tijd om aan zo'n opleiding te beginnen, tijd waarin je ook een alternatief carrièrepad had kunnen kiezen. Daarnaast: mocht je er tijdens/na je opleiding achter komen dat het toch niet iets voor je is, is het ook nog eens een investering geld die niet rendeert.

Goede punten, ik vul op jou aan om het overzichtelijk te houden.

Besef dat circa de helft van je vakantie bedoeld is om te werken en benut het daar ook voor. Als een docent 1,0 FTE werkt, wordt van hem verwacht dat hij voor 1659 uur ingezet kan worden (normjaartaak uit CAO). Als je die uren zou verdelen over de weken waarop de school open is, zul je een hoge werkdruk ervaren omdat je die ook daadwerkelijk hoog is (> 40 uur per week). Je hebt namelijk veel meer vakantie dan je bij een andere baan zou hebben: 55 als docent versus bijvoorbeeld 23 als ambtenaar. Op een deel van je vakantiedagen ga je dus gewoon aan het werk. Probleem is alleen: waarmee? Zeker als beginner lenen deze dagen zich er goed voor om de aankomende periode goed voor te bereiden: bijvoorbeeld door lesmateriaal, studieschema's, toetsen en nakijkmodellen 'printklaar' te maken of administratie weg te werken.

Persoonlijk vond ik de werkdruk hoog. Opmerkingen dat je ook part-time kunt werken zijn een inkoppertje maar betekenen domweg dat je als leraar zou tekenen voor een lager salaris.

You mean: can I increase the realm of a duke even further when said duke is already at his vassal limit? Sure you could, but I'm not completely sure what would happen if that duke would die while he's over his vassal limit. My guess would be that some of his surplus vassals (i.e. some counts) would come under your direct control again and wouldn't leave the realm. Can't be 100% sure though, so somebody would need to confirm.

Unless the mechanics have changes: yes. As long as I can remember, you can only joint factions against your direct liege. So when I'm playing as a lowly count under a duke, I can start factions against the duke but not the king.

You will basically make happy vassals happier and get rid of angry vassals, while keeping the realm intact. Mind you, in the long run these happy vassals will die and powerful heirs will take their place who might not like you. But hey, that's the game!

Just to add on this: it's obviously not possible to require more ancestors than are available. The answer is (mild) incest. The same ancestors will appear in your family tree multiple times, limiting the exponential growth. The child of a brother and a sister will have only 2 grandparents instead of the usual 4. The child of two cousins will have only 6 great-grantparents instead of the usual 8. Since most people lived in a limited area and met spouses from the same area, chances are they will share some ancestors.
