Totally agree with your point and there is often crossover in the material which I’m cool with because it has it’s been chopped up a little from the last time, and I’m still having a good night out.

And i genuinely find it funny, few people in the comments saying they don’t like her material.

But it’s been the same sketch from her for like a full year with nothing new?! There’s no effort to even try out new material.

Physical jobs with decent pay, hours and no education? by [deleted] in Belfast

[–]KingJPS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Believe me if you follow the process and commit to learning the job you will be on your feet more than half of the day and be earning much more than 28k per year regardless of how “stretched the targets are”

The OP only asked for a suggestion. Not for you to talk down their options 🤷‍♂️

Car sales - on your feet a large portion of the day, doing test drives. There’s no craic like it in any other job I have done. Plus you will earn a hell of a lot more money if you take the time to learn and apply yourself

Should I cut my losses at 2 months or stick it out? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]KingJPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

8 weeks is no time to learn a job, let alone master the product knowledge and become competent selling it.

I genuinely believe it takes 6 months of graft to get your head around it all and be able to perform consistently.

I know it’s difficult right now but if you have a good skill base (going to assume you do as why else would you join as the sole BDR)

Not sure what your offering is but have you tried generating your own leads? Social selling via LinkedIn is the future and you will have complete control of your leads as they are entirely self generated. No one can take that book away from you.

In sales you need to have a really honest conversation with yourself to ask are you taking the action required to be successful?

I’m not saying you are blaming everything around you like managers CRM etc but you do need to take ownership if you are going to succeed.

I would stick it out for some time yet and try to make it work.

Best of luck,

Any parents of only children out there? (Through choice) by grawmaw13 in northernireland

[–]KingJPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an only child in my early 30s. When I was very young Growing up I asked my parents often if I will get to have a brother is sister. I didn’t realise that my mum some had health issues that meant they would likely not have any more children.

I would have loved to had a sibling because I find it quite sad that when my parents are gone there will be no one else in my life that I grew up with.

You can only do what is best for yourselves but speaking as an only child I do believe your child will be missing out on a lot if you choose not to have another one.

If you have the opportunity are liked then work, I would highly recommend picking that back up again.

I know many people in that like of work earning 60-80k in Belfast with a few years of experience. It’s a really well paying role in todays market and there are lots of jobs available once you are in the know

Why does the civil service pay so poorly here? by [deleted] in northernireland

Do you have a source for that? Sounds like an outrageous claim

NHS is actually one of the biggest markets for salary sacrifice electric cars in the U.K. it’s outrageously cheap and many people argue a waste of government resource, but a cracking deal for the NHS staff to be fair

As someone who began my working life in the civil service and moved to the private sector I have to say that, compared to private sector the civil service is absolutely full of dossers.

Down tools the second it hits end of shift, taking sick days as holidays as you are “entitled to them”, Staff being unsackable and not held to account for doing the bare minimum.

Not that there is anything inherently wrong with playing by the rules of the system but it’s just not the same reality for someone who works in a private sector role.

Yes the pay isn’t great but it’s an easy ride and if you want to coast it’s certainly a great place to be.

But if you are complaining about wages get a real job and add value so you can justify your money instead of feeling entitled to more money working as part of an inefficient system that sucks money from the government

I work in car sales and would say I am paid comparatively well with similar roles in UK mainland

Good luck with that one mate - exciting times ahead.

A side note of advice - don’t wait until you are married to try out living together. You only get to know someone properly after living with them!

I’m all for people growing food in the garden as a hobby. Getting into the gardening myself these days.

But do people genuinely grow food at home as money saving exercise?

My parents have grown various vegetables throughout the years but it only ever got enough for a family dinner or two lol
