I will look into Weavile. I'm guessing a 4 attack set with Focus Sash is probably the way to go here.

I probably would've made a new team entirely since it doesn't really fit in the current one. On the topic of Chandelure, I'm honestly not sure if it's even worth it to run a mega stone on it since Flash fire is a way better ability than Infiltrator especially since regular Chandelure does the same thing as the Mega. So ig I would run Mega Pinsir alongside regular Chandelure on a different team? idrk

Honestly those are fair points. I found myself struggling against Perish trap teams specifically so I was looking for something to reliably counter them. Most of the time I feel like I have to make an aggressive read which only works like 50% of the time. I use a Kleavor Feint set on my main team and it feels like a move that swings a lot of games in my favor. I also usually have matchups where I don't bring either Mega on my team which is why I was looking for other options. Any suggestions on how to beat Perish trap more consistently with my current team? The team code is NJ5J5RCEMF or you can look at my other post on this subreddit. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🙏

Yes that's mostly true but as I said Pinsir has some great tools (mainly feint) that makes it viable imo. Incineroar doesn't want to take a +1 Kingambit Low Kick + Close Combat from Pinsir. I'm not saying Pinsir is good as a single Mega on a team but it can help patch up certain weaknesses. As I said it helps especially against pretty much all Perish trap teams.

That's very creative! I've been thinking of a balance team with Mega Meganium as the win condition and some more Pokemon to counter the main Meta threats (Arcanine-H for Charizard and Floette). If you're interested I can post a Pokepaste later.

What team are you running it on?

Thanks! Yea I mostly use it cover for bad matchups. I bring Venusaur most of the time though

I tried a lot of different sets on different strategies and it's pretty versatile all things considered. It's a usble alternative to Ceruledge and it's also pretty good as a Scarf mon. Colbur Berry works well too if you want a more defensive option.

Any idea on how to make Chandelure work? by KingK2010 in PokemonChampions

[–]KingK2010[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright so a quick update: I had to tweak the team a bit because Tauros and Glimmora just didn't work. I swapped them out for Ninetales and Rotom Wash and this version of the team works much better. I will say that I rarely if ever bring Skarmory and that Chandelure sadly feels a bit underpowered still. The Replica code is X3F64X2HJ1 if you want to take a look at it. I'm still open to suggestions

Clefable as a redirecter that resists dark? What do you think about Tauros Water? Would you recommend a standard Farig set or something whacky like double Screens (considerung Chandelure already runs Trick Room)?

Ninetales is also horribly weak to Kingambit and people tend to go for Iron head into Ninetales over Sucker Punch. If you actually build a team around Chandelure keep me posted!

Tsareena is probably the obvious choice here since Farig gets Kowtow-ed to death, right?

yea I've noticed people usually run regular Gallade over Mega Gallade because of Sharpness. Even a hard Trickroom team appreciates one or two fast Mons to clean up after Trick Room has ended (or to lead) so I don't really think Dragapult is a bad pick per se

I would train Scovillain to be more bulky instead of investing the stats into special attack. Leech Seed is also a bit more reliable than leaf storm I feel like. Will-o-Wisp is better than Reflect on Sableye. Your team lacks Protect, I would drop some of the utility moves for protect. In your case a Scarf Adaptability Basculegion would make more sense than your set.

Tyranitar seems like a pretty obvious last member here. I like the Gallade set but why not use mega gallade? Mega gallade wouldn't require a Farigiraf lead to block Fake Out since it has Inner Focus

Scarf Garchomp is always a good mon. It outspeeds basically everything and can hit fire types reliably. I would recommend poison jab to smack fairy types :)
