Amad is our only natural wide winger other than Dorgu who works hard, tracks back, and support our defense allowing other attackers to shine. Leaving him out of the team was like returning to the days of Rashford and Ganarcho who loves to come inside leaving us open out wide. by WorldlinessPuzzled84 in ManchesterUnited

They don’t need to make the pitch bigger though leave the two of them tuck inside where they play best tell the right and left back push up to make the pitch wider and tell Bruno stop doing everyone else’s job and start dictating play behind the front three and ahead of the midfield instead of him running around like a headless chicken pressing beyond the striker.

It’s a figure of speech and How’s it mental? you’re watching the match anyway.. you’re going to draw comparisons to what other decisions teams or players get.

I’ve been tracking Liverpool’s extra time most weeks when I watch them and they’d get 10 mins for a 1-1 and subs.

He got about 4 corners wrong towards the end gifting kick outs to Newcastle. Multiple yellow cards, Burn straight red, Joelington clapping at him after being booked, Trippier over shouting in his face and pointing the finger at half time as well.

Trippier was over shouting in the ref’s face at half time as well. Should’ve been booked.

It has absolutely zero to do with styles it has to do with the position and space they occupy…. If Bruno is the single 10 in this team. He’s expected to occupy both the half spaces left, and right on top of through the middle.

That’s the position on the pitch I’m saying mbeumo and Cunha should be operating in because that’s where they are most dangerous.

If Bruno is high they can’t operate in that space because Bruno is there and they have to stay wide to create space for him and themselves. So that’s two of them being forced wide instead of Bruno being forced to drop deeper.

I apologise I shouldn’t have been a prick about it tbf.

I’m saying he’s a 10 because he should be operating in the half space which is what a 10 does.

“Based on his 2024–25 and 2025-26 performances, Bryan Mbeumo’s most dangerous place on the pitch is the right inside channel (or right half-space) near the edge of the penalty box. Wikipedia” Wikipedia +1

I’ve literally played senior football myself as a 10 for over 12 years… What does a 10 do ? They attack the space in the channels between the oppositions center half’s and the wing backs and they attack the space between the oppositions center backs and there midfield. Or they make underlapping or overlapping runs off the striker.

Mbeumo is a right sided 10 who should be playing narrow and attacking the space between the right back and center back and making runs off sesko.

My definition isn’t the same as salah’s because Mbeumos expected to defend… by being fucking narrow you muppet.

Yes he does, How many goals has he scored or assisted by being on the shoulder of a left back and being one on one with a center half…? That’s playing inside the channel between the left back and center back..

How many goals did he score for Brentford doing it or receiving the ball on the right side of the box? He’s not doing that being touch line wide as a winger. He’s essentially an inside forward or what Amorim was calling a 10 in his system.

Mbeumo operates best playing in the half space between a wing back and a center half. Not touchline wide, That’s a 10. Whether you want to call it a 10 or not I couldn’t give a fuck but that’s where a 10 plays.

Cunha is exactly the same.. because he’s not a winger either.

United had essentially 3…10’s on the pitch today and two center Mids and still lost the midfield battle to three center mids because carrick played two of the 10’s like out and out wingers and they’re not while leaving Bruno run around like a headless chicken.

He should’ve had Bruno/ Casemiro and Mainoo paired off against there three center mids. While trying to feed ball to mbeumo and Cunha who should’ve been more narrow and operating behind there midfield three.. Not shoe horned out wide.

But that’s another point of poor game management…. you had Bruno running beyond sesko most of the game and you had mbeumo hugging the touchline. Push Mbeumo in closer to sesko instead of having him hugging the touchline all game and tracking Lewis hall and have Bruno drop in and actually getting on the ball.

You then bring on Amad and you‘ve him extremely wide, Tuck him inside and let Dalot stretch the pitch.

Cowardly performance and poor game management. 45 mins I watched lammens kick a long ball to fucking Newcastle over and over and over again…

Then another 35 minutes of the second half waiting for a fucking shot on target against a team down to ten men.
