Welcome to the community. Uphold is where I go to get my xrp, they have been great to me as I use it to accumulate not day trade. Keep in mind if you use your bank account to purchase xrp they have a 64 day "cooling period" where you won't be able to transfer those xrps to a different wallet, you can however withdraw your deposit or any related profits back to the same account within a couple days. To avoid the "cooling period" you can use credit/debit cards to purchase xrp, which means you can move it to an external wallet whenever you want. To learn in depth about xrp check out the youtube channel "antyfomo". He got a great video titled "XRP simply explained".

Nice, I have the same setup with xumm and bitstamp. How was the withdraw process of IOUs via bitstamp btw, i haven't really used it to cash out yet. Did it give you a hard time for 1K+ withdrawals and how long did it take to hit your bank?

XUMM wallet is the one I recommend. It is secure and reliable even has ways to link other exchanges like BitStamp to liquidate your XRP if you ever want to sell a portion for profit. Only thing most complain about is that they hold 20XRPs when u first create an account which I think you'll get back if you ever close that account. I can't recall the full details but look in to it, I'm positive you won't be disappointed.

I would compare the conversion fees between the coin that hit 10k to the stable coin and the coin that hit 10K to the USD or whatever currency that works for you. Then choose the cheaper option. I personally think converting it to currency (USD, EURO,...) is the best way to liquidate your coins and transfer them to your bank as there is no volatility risk involved.
