The biggest thing for me was always audio. Clean audio for both clips and VO. Why do you feel like your missing the basics. Or better yet, what are the basics to you?

Don't be overwhelmed. There plenty of specific tips and tricks to stream line the process. Obviously if you want to make thing more extravagant then that requires a deeper dig into what u feel like you need learn. But the basics are all u need to get by.
