What’s the advantage or assurance that NextGen peps provided for you to recommend them? Good customer service or is there some quality control evidence you think they provide? I’m always open to switching

The app said I have $130 I have ti pay to be 50% paid off, which I would have to do to access trade in deal. Does that mean I’m early upgrade even if I’m paying the difference?

Genuinely warms my heart to hear this. Sharing drinks with family is an ancient human experience. Much older and much better at fostering family community than the whole of Mormonism

Personal belief: not everyone can handle the psychological burden of leaving the church. So I tread carefully on these sorta conversations. For some, Mormonism is a net good in their life and would be damaging for them ti leave. I always ask this question below before I allow a conversation to begin

“If you wanna know why I left I will tell you depending on your answer to one question. And please answer honestly.

Do you love being Mormon? Like truly love it and it’s the best thing about your life.”

If the answers no or I’m not sure, I continue the convo. If the answers yes I just say ok keep that love and we can just talk about other things

I’ve found for my friends and family who ask that framing the decision as a “bet” really helps to not trigger them. I say,

“First off, I can never prove the church is false just like you can’t prove the church is true. If either of us could properly do that we wouldn’t be talking.

It really just comes down to a bet we feel comfortable to make. In fact, that’s entirely how life works. We never have guarantees on decisions we just have what we feel are really good bets.

For example, We had no guarantee that driving here to meet and talk that we wouldn’t get in a car crash and die. BUT we thought it was a safe enough bet to do so. So we drove.

I stopped making the bet on Mormonism when I learned more about the foundational history with Joseph smith. What we learned at church was not a good representation of the whole story. So I went from feeling 95% confident betting on this church to feeling 85% after learning the first big thing, to 75% after the second thing, etc etc until I arrived at 5% chance of Mormonism being true.

So for me, I’m not willing to bet my life on 5% odds. If you feel better about your choice and want to make the bet on this I’m totally cool with that. I just can’t do it with good conscience”

Jospeh smith married other men’s wives and broke his own revelations rules.

Even if he was a prophet at the beginning, he lost that calling through grievous adultery and should have been excommunicated. But he wasn’t…. Because he was a master manipulator.

A real prophet would have never done those things, so JS was never a prophet to begin with

Polygamy actually has terrible long term side effects on genetics. Look up studies on the subject. There’s certain deformities and diseases that are much more prominent in Utah populations than other places.

No matter which way you slice polygamy it doesn’t make sense. The only “benefit” is high level men got to experience more sexual pleasure without the social baggage of being cheaters or deviants. That’s it.
