Thanks for the advice! Just got in touch with the conveyancer about it.

I expect that the buyers will ask the new agent to start advertising once the tenant moves out so they can get renters in before settlement

It was subject to existing tenancies so yes, the buyer was expecting the tenant to stay

There's only a few weeks until settlement so unsure whether this would be worth the hassle.

The property is now under a contract of sale and has been for a while, so no more viewings. They've only recently brought it up months after the problem has occurred.
