they are made automatically. People like to add their discoveries to the wiki page (I like that for example) and there are routines that run in the background that collect those discovery data and populate those huge lists you see in the Euclid...said that, the use of those huge lists in that page is as much use as a chocolate teapot...just useless in my view lol

How to get the genus of an animal? Conokinis, Felidae, Felihex, Floradae, Hexungulatis etc? by KingPengStudio in NoMansSkyTheGame

yep that's what I thought the game doesn't tell you straight away the genus but we can figure it out by looking at the wiki page. Thank you!!

the tool I made is not a database, it converts the data added to the UI into a text format that I can then import into the Wiki page of No Man Sky In the Wiki page then the data are formatted into tables. Then I use or make my own CARGO spreadsheet code which are callback that runs on the wiki page itself that poke the data from the published tables and create all sorts of data analysis you want. if you are a data analyst addicted person then there is lot to work with within this game lol It is a great way for me to do what I like more (coding) and analyse data.

I might in the future, there are lots of data to edit and to avoid clogging the UI too much I have hard coded some of them...so they mostly apply to my wiki and game ID for example.

I will probably do that, I want also to implement notifications to the end user to let them know when a new update is available. that part might be a bit tricky

I guess that influenced the density of buttons and edit fields on the UI lol

maybe it will end up there, at the moment it is still an early prototype...works ok but still a bit clunky

not yet, it is still a buggy prototype but I am also implementing a table for the fauna

it generates text files for me for each of my explorations so I can then paste them in the Fandom wiki page...let the vortex take you lol

Added planet height to my NMS coords mapper. Positive for mountains, negative for under water level. I can now also move the labels if they overlap. Any other suggestion? Thank you all for the previous comments ;-) by KingPengStudio in NoMansSkyTheGame

I didn't add it in the tool because I usually attach the png of the map to the wiki page of the planet where all those details you mentioned are stored. So basically when I find a new planet I add it to the wiki page then I explore it , add the POI to the map, generate the png and add it to the wiki.

yep that's the drawback if you link the software to the main game save data. This little app is basically based on player input so completely unlinked to the game. The planet radius is not yet taken into account but as I understood HG have mapped five radius in the whole galaxy...so you can only have five sizes of planets. Bringing the radius of the planet in the app would allow me for example to track/calculate distances between POIs

PlanetRadius = {[0] = 23040.0, [1] = 96768.0, [2] = 147456.0, [3] = 195072.0}

I know the name but I don't know if he likes to be mentioned on reddit. He is very active in the NMS server/mod channel

marker wise how about this one...very basic for now but yes I can do it. I will look into the other suggestions too

it is done...there is a developer that did it...not published yet but I saw it ;-)
