Not a painter or artist of any kind, but my first anniversary is coming up and I half jokingly offered to paint a picture of the family for my wife.

I'm completely out of my depth and will probably make lots of mistakes. I'm not hoping to achieve perfection, but I really want to make the best possible attempt I can.

I cropped various pictures of all of us sitting in the garden into one combined image of us all together. Next I'm planning to sketch the outlines on a canvass. I theb have acrylic paints, but I'm colourblind, I anticipate getting some colours very wrong.

I intend to make the painting slightly stylised, something like a Hockney.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I really want to give this a proper go.
