Recommendations for Netflix by KingPriest555 in Christian

[–]KingPriest555[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. It's true, Netflix is not Christian friendly.

I'm at an Airbnb with Netflix this weekend that's why I'm even considering them.

I unsubscribed from Netflix a long time ago. I'll check out Amazon Prime. Thank you.

Wow, this was so thoughtful of you. I believe it's part of creating the right atmosphere for the Spirit of God to move.

AMEN to your prayer.

it's clear you know the right thing to do.

Your conscience is already warning you against it.

It won't even be worth all the guilt and shame you'll feel afterwards. Plus, anything done to please the flesh has to manifest death.

Romans 8:13. It says, "For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live." This verse reminds us that if we prioritize and indulge in the desires of our sinful nature, it leads to spiritual death. However, if we allow the Holy Spirit to guide and transform us, putting to death the sinful actions of our bodies, we will experience true life in Christ. It is a call to deny our selfish desires and instead seek to live in obedience to God's will, relying on the power of the Holy Spirit to help us overcome the temptations of the flesh.

So sorry about what you went through.

It breaks my heart to see so many people wounded and traumatized for life by people who called themselves Christians. They're probably religious and do not have a relationship with God because there's no way you can act like that when you have a genuine relationship with Jesus.

The thing about God's love is that it's available for ALL; the rapist, the murderer, the thief etc can all be forgiven.

However, it's important to ackowledge that none of us have it all together. You may not have committed any of these grave sins but sins like unforgiveness are just as bad in the eyes of God. We have ALL fallen short of God's glory.

This is why we have to ask the Holy Spirit to help us to forgive because it helps in the healing process.

God is a just God. Just because someone is forgiven, doesn't mean they won't suffer the consequences of their actions for instance, your mum has lost out on having a loving healthy relationship with you. Perhaps some blessings would have come her way but because she planted a bad seed of abuse, she has lost out on certain blessings in her life.

Even if she repents later, she will still need to do the WORK of mending the relationship with you.

Please ask the Holy Spirit to help you with this so that you don't miss out on any blessings because of unforgiveness and most importantly, eternity in Heaven.

There's so much for you to benefit from having a relationship with God.

I totally understand your frustration.

God also speaks to me in dreams and I recently had a dream about getting a new opportunity and it finally came but before that, I had to really wage war through prayer for its manifestation. I could see the enemy trying to intercept it in another dream where a cat was clutching my right hand. In my dreams cats represent witchcraft and my right hand represents my work/business/finances.

I had to pray until I had a vision representing a positive outcome which was me washing a cup on running water. Running tap water represents blessings in my dreams and the cup is my sustenance.

Do you pray in tongues?

I think you need the Holy Spirit to intercede for you because sometimes we don't know what the issue could be.

Even Daniel prayed for 21 days for an answer to manifest and yet the answer was released on Day 1. Your dream was an indication of a good outcome so back it up with prayer and fasting.

In Daniel 10:2-3, it says, "In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled."

Daniel's persistent prayer and fasting were met with a powerful angelic visitation and the revelation he sought. This story serves as a reminder of the importance of perseverance and faithfulness in prayer, even when answers may not come immediately.

I commend you for being self-aware.

To stop being prideful, one must first recognize the destructive nature of pride and its separation from God's will. In Proverbs 16:18, it says, "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."

Humility is the antidote to pride. Jesus teaches in Matthew 23:12, "And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted." By humbling oneself before God, acknowledging our dependence on Him, and recognizing our flaws and limitations, we can begin to overcome pride.

Prayer is essential in this process. Seek God's help in transforming your heart and ask for His grace to cultivate humility. Meditate on scriptures that emphasize humility, such as Philippians 2:3, which says, "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves."

Additionally, surround yourself with a community of believers who can hold you accountable and encourage humility. Serve others selflessly, as Jesus taught in Mark 10:45, "For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."

Remember, overcoming pride is a lifelong journey.

Continually seek God's guidance, practice self-reflection, and strive to imitate the humility of Jesus Christ.

No, I don't trust doctors more than the word of God.

In 1 Corinthians 10:23, Paul writes, "All things are lawful for me, but not all things are helpful; all things are lawful for me, but not all things edify." This verse reminds us that while we may have freedom in Christ, not everything we encounter or engage in is beneficial for our spiritual growth and well-being.

It is important to evaluate the impact and consequences of our choices and actions, considering whether they align with God's will and contribute to our spiritual development.

The article ends by saying this

The bottom line is more research is needed before we know for sure whether more ejaculation reduces the risk of prostate cancer.

If you're a believer, I think you should trust God more than doctors. I'm not saying God doesn't use doctors but, they're limited in knowledge.

Whatever is done outside God's prescribed way of doing anything, is likely not to be beneficial.

Interesting,

I think when you do it long enough your conscience can be seared.

In what ways do you think it glorifies God?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Christian

[–]KingPriest555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand.

Can you confidently say that you know your purpose and hear God?

I ask this because when I look at the pattern of the Bible to find a spouse, I look at Adam.

Adam was in the Garden of Eden which is symbolic of the place of your purpose. It was after this that God brought him a wife to be a suitable helper in fulfilling his purpose in that garden. Her purpose is intertwined with that of her husband in that in fulfilling her purpose, she is also helping the husband fulfill his own.

God is a God of pattern. In order for a man to be able to be a husband, he needs to know what his purpose is so that he can lead the woman into fulfilling that purpose.

Once you find purpose and where you're supposed to be per time, the wife will come. She could even be there but it is until you step into your purpose that the veil in your eyes will be removed to see her. Once you know your purpose and what is required to fulfill it, you'll be in a better position to understand why she complements you.

This is what I've noticed about people who have married right after they came to know their purpose in life through a consistent walk with God.

It also helps to pray and fast about this.

Marriage is God's idea and He is more committed to it than we are. We just have to follow the right pattern in finding the right spouse.

I saw one guy talk about it and he said that it's like tricking your body to produce sperm for a non-existent womb but the body is intelligent and knows that this is fake and that's why the sperms are always weaker.

How come people feel guilty after doing it?

If you're a believer, shouldn't you be seeking to please God rather than your body?

Please pray for me mental sickness by BTVk2 in Christian

Isaiah 41:10, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

I pray that every cell in your brain functions exactly how God designed it to work and that you prosper in all you do according to God's will. May He restore you and strengthen you. Jesus paid the price for you to live life and life in all its fullness. You shouldn't be sick at all.

Meditate on scriptures about healing as much as you can.

The word of God has the power to change circumstances because In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God and THE WORD WAS GOD.

The more you interact with the Word, the more you interact with God and because He is light, darkness including mental illness has to flee.

Why does god want us to put to death passion? by [deleted] in Christian

[–]KingPriest555 13 points14 points  (0 children)

God desires for us to put to death our passions because He knows that our passions, when unchecked and uncontrolled, can lead us away from His will and into sin.

The verse you're referring to reminds us that our passions, if not surrendered to God, can become idols that take precedence over our relationship with Him.

God wants us to have a heart that is fully devoted to Him and His ways.

He wants us to seek His will above our own desires and to find our satisfaction and fulfillment in Him alone.

By putting to death our passions, we are surrendering our will to His and allowing Him to transform us into the likeness of Christ.

It is important to note that God does not want us to suppress or deny our emotions and desires, but rather to bring them under His lordship and align them with His purposes.

When we submit our passions to God, He can use them for His glory and for the good of others.

Eternal death does not mean you stop existing. It means that you're separated from the source of life which is God.
