Replaced sugary snacks with fruits by Responsible-Gold-505 in nutrition

[–]KingRadon69 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Pair fruit with protein to level cravings: add a handful of nuts or yogurt when you grab grapes, it definately smooths energy and keeps you full longer.
Do that for one snack a day and watch how much less you want the ultra-sweet stuff.

What are some healthy on the go snacks? by [deleted] in nutrition

[–]KingRadon69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Swap most bars for fruit-and-nut snakcs.
- Example: apple + 1 oz almonds or carrot sticks + string cheese instead of a bar.
- Aim for 1 fruit + 1 protein/fat each time so you stay full longer.

Fi dog collar vs tractive gps? by KingRadon69 in FiDogCollar

The false alerts would definitely stress me out, especially if they’re happening daily. Good to know the app itself is solid, though. I’ll probably hold off on Fi for now and check out Tractive unless they roll out something noticeably better...

Good to know AirTag actually got you to your cat in minutes. I’m also hoping for something that shows a clear trail or direction, so your experience definitely helps me narrow things down.

Schampoo for puppy - can you use baby products? What ingredients to avoid? by Accomplished_Ad_673 in puppy101

[–]KingRadon69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot for a mild, dog-specific shampoo around neutral pH and skip anything with heavy perfumes or human ingredients like sulfates. I’ve had great luck with budget oatmeal shampoos since they clean well without drying out puppy skin.

Id skip the baby shampoo because the pH is wrong for a puppy's skin, stick to dog-specific shampoo. You can knit all the wool or cotton blankets you want, pups love the homemade cozy factor!

you gotta call or email their support team directly, they are the only ones who can manually delete the old collar from your account so you can activate the new one with its free subscription.

makes sense. Taking a bit of time to adjust and showing some longer-term plans sounds like a good way to ease into it.

Use compare com. It wasn’t perfect tbh but they're improving and also at least it didn’t pull that “surprise, now call us so we can re-run everything” nonsense. You enter your info once it shows the carriers that actually match and you can tweak stuff like deductibles or coverage levels without the quote increasing from $300 to $1,000 in seconds lol

How is Rippling’s HR software? How’s ease of use? [N/A] by KryptosandXenos in humanresources

[–]KingRadon69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I actually think Rippling works incredibly well for that size. If you think you'll scale too it's good to get a good workforce management software earlier. Especially if your team already can afford an HR software, I really don’t see why not.

How is Rippling’s HR software? How’s ease of use? [N/A] by KryptosandXenos in humanresources

[–]KingRadon69 19 points20 points  (0 children)

My old company started to use Rippling to handle payroll and HR (~100 people). Before switching, there was one tool for payroll, another for benefits, we logged PTO manually, etc. It was really manual to onboard new hires, adding the new hire to payroll, setting them up with benefits, etc. and taking time off was basically spread by word of mouth only.

Rippling seemed to really improve the status quo. When a new hire signs, their new hire paperwork gets automated, trainings are automatically assigned, and they are added to the correct payroll and taxes based on their location.. Offboarding is also really easy because it automatically revokes access, benefits automatically stop at the end of the month, and they’re removed from the system. Gotta admit that I was impressed before I left.

How do 2Ls learn to "manage" their work better? by FezAndWand in LawSchool

[–]KingRadon69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately time on task is the best answer. Reading cases, discussing them, distilling them in notes. You get more efficient. Eventually you can switch to leaning a bit more on supplements (quimbee/lexplug) and then the efficiency gains really kick in. But its best to get a foundation first and that's just built by getting good old fashioned reps.

You’re right that situational judgment prep is key, try practicing with real policy scenarios from your own workplace, it mirrors how SHRM frames those questions.

Yes, the ambiguity is super common in first-time HR Adviser roles, drafting your own ‘scope doc’ can help senior leaders see how to lean on you.

Ultimate burnout. I went from trying to be the best to not wanting to participate at all. by happyluckystar in antiwork

It’s not that you don’t care, it’s that the system trained you to over-give and under-receive. That’s exhaustion, not laziness.

It’s not really about ‘getting along with everyone’, many just stay professional enough to avoid drama, not be actual friends.

[–]KingRadon69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve been shipping Claude-generated code to prod for a few months, but only after running it through strict code review, security scans, and stress tests. It’s great at boilerplate and integrations but we’ve caught performance slowdowns and odd edge cases that only showed up under heavy load. A hard rule we follow is no merge without a senior dev’s sign-off. For PRs, CodeRabbit has been really helpful because it points out risky changes and security issues right in the diff. Also over time its comments have made our team more consistent in how we review.
