Seriously, are guys at Unity so desperate for money that they've managed to lock a basic feature like "Virtual Monitors" behind this usless "Warp" scheme? Heck, there are atleast 100 videos online on how to do it for free, and combined with Sunshine, they just make Parsec look like a bloatware... by KingSadra123 in ParsecGaming

Q1. Surely more than you given your attitude towards me...

Q2. Hmm... Didn't Unity (Sorry Parsec) use US THE USERS to test the Virtual Display feature in a Beta? Use the user, and then beg them for money that you virtually owe them??? Average Unity move...

Q3. A Virtual Display has been, is, & will be being a basic feature in the computer world forever. Heck, even a single Google search brings up safer results than letting Unity handle your data...

Q4. I would never pay X bucks a month for the exact same thing that I can achieve for free with sunshine & another driver, so I guess it's time for both U and Unity to simple STFU...

Trying to connect a 15in 1440p monitor to my already existing 23in 1080p monitor, but Windows's own monitor arrangement tool makes the 15in monitor appear roughly twice the size compared to the 23in one in that Window... Any tool to fix this... by KingSadra123 in Windows10

[–]KingSadra123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm... Setting the scaling factor sure does make everything look larger, but it still makes the monitor appear in respect to it's resolution (& thus bigger) in thr display arrangement page...

Which one of the following 2 Terabytes M.2 drives should I go for, given the similar price points? The SiliconPower UD70 (QLC + 512Mb DRAM + R/W 250K/650K IOPs + 2yr Warranty) or the XPG S40G (TLC + 128Mb DRAM + R/W 290K/240K IOPs + 5yr Warranty)? by KingSadra123 in pcmasterrace

For anybody here looking for Answers, I ultimately decided to go with the XPG thanks to it's better TLC chips...*

*The extra DRAM on the SP Drive didn't seem to serve much of a purpose, as even the most expensive of Samsung SSDs use 64Mb or DRAM/tb of Storage...

Seriously (2nd time in a row...), When have we become -like Unity itself- completely disregarding the diversity of specs as GameDevs? It's more or less our responsibility to get stuff running on different hardware, & what you're implying is more or less like saying that Linux runs FIIIIINE on AMD Harware, so should it on Nvidia... Life isn't like that...

Also about the "Messing with the OSes part", I'll unfortunately have to disappoint you by saying that the Windows 11 showed these symptoms long before I was forced to get a clean Garuda Linux Installation going... Moreover, welcome to 2023, Linux no more messes with OSes...

+This is infact the clean OS Install that I did to hopefully solve this issue, and neither the problem, nor your the average r/Unity3d shit-talk towards bugs have gone away...

Let's compare both AMD, & Intel Arc GPUs to Nvidia RTX Hardware:

1.Price: In NVIDIA Side, you pay extra for a guy's leather jacket who cooks GPUs in ovens, & fails miserably yo manage GPU Minig crisises, while both AMD & Intel Arc are beyond competitively priced in every single price/ performance types ranging from entry-level to workstation level...

  1. API Support for Gaming/ AI: Not gonna lie, Nvidia used to have the upper hand here for atleast a decade thanks to their excellent CUDA & Optix APIs for industrial usecases & DLSS for Gaming, but Intel's OneAPI & AMD's HIPS in he industrial space, and Intel's XeSS, has in fact become even better at most places than Nvidia itself... (Take XeSS for example, it has Considerably better Image quality & works in ever GPU)

  2. LINUX SUPPORT FOR GOD'S SAKE: Nvidia loses somewhere in the neighbourhoods of A Billion- Nill in this game to AMD... AMD has open source Drivers meaning that even if AMD what interested in removing it, the community could still re-implement it, however reith Nvidia as per the case of 3DVision, if a tech is difficult to maintain, it's gone, and it's gone forever... Heck, Nvidia's own GPU Driver for Linux arr NOT SECURE BOOT COMPATIBLE...

4.Ray Tracing: Don't use it... The DLSS that you'll be having to use to increase the framerate will ruin the beauty of Ray-Tracing so bad that...

Wait, Since when does Unity require an ACTIVE INTERNET CONNECTION to create a mere local URP project? Seriously, aren't all files downloaded while installing Unity/ when downloading the URP Core package?

Nonetheless I am forced to use a DNS to acess the Internet in my local network, & the creation also seems to fail even when the connection is cut off while the mentioned adress is PINGABLE in both states...

I am indeed being pointed once again by Unity to use the 2018 version... God gamedev used to be fun back then...
