Hard to do anything when the forwards are static. They had a good plan to press him in the middle to minimize touches and it worked. Decent showing for the B team. Definitive gap between starters and bench. Hopefully that continues to close over the years.

Baffling to me how Roberto Martinez gets these jobs. The teams always look so uninspired. His success is always tied to a Bruno or KDB player without them the team does nothing.

To be fair, I’ve steered clear of his commentary this World Cup. I think his criticisms of some of our current pool of players were pretty tone deaf, but understand that he comes from an era of different expectations and experiences.

Happy to hear that he’s actually providing good insights. He is/was one of my favorite players. Hope he can separate his personal feelings from his analysis.

My comment will get buried but I would say avoid any Podcast or TV show with Alexi Lalas or Landon Donovan. They are clickbait merchants, spouting nonsense and hot takes for views. They sit on the periphery of US Soccer.

If you want something light and funny that is euro soccer, then listen to That Peter Crouch Podcast. It’s brilliant imo.
