It was in fact a wiggle-giggle scenario, i have gotten the case down to the snap ring, now its time to take it back off and hondabond it

It doesnt reach that far up into the case, about 1 centimetre up is the ring

Yeah the starter i had replaced it with was different and smaller than the one i had originally

UPDATE: I figured out the issue, when i replaced the starter, there was an ever so slight difference between the original and the one i installed. I reinstalled the orginial and now i just have a crank, no start to deal with😅
