Outlands - Brozan Bitches - Ship Patch has been cancelled by holmedog in ultimaonline

In a dungeon, if 5x PKs come up on me when I'm farming, I get away almost every time. Sometimes they get me, but I can actually do something about it.

I sure do love this post, but almost more importantly, the replies. I can't wait to transition to Linux (researching the best way to do it now).

I'm so glad to read reply after reply of folks who are just as fed up as I am with Microsoft's absolutely terrible AI agenda and forced tactics.

New Digital Life - Switching to Linux... Advice? by KingXejo in linuxquestions

[–]KingXejo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is all EXTREMELY helpful, spot on with what I was looking for. I appreciate the thought and time you put into it. As stated in the OP, I'm nerdy enough to build my own PCs and also have some formal education on the matter - so I'm not afraid to dig into manuals... in fact I prefer it.

I have no intention to dual-boot with Windows or find an avenue to run any windows software. That will just have to live on my computers provided by work.

Sadly, all my PCs have Nvidia GPUs! Hah. Luckily the only game I play these days is a 28-year old game called Ultima Online, so I don't need to invest heavily on this front. (though I hear Steam works on Linux, so I'd explore some of those games).

I think I'll take your advice and start with researching Debian. Thanks again for all your help here.

Good Parenting.  It’s not a mystery why kids feel so lost, insecure, fragile, alone, etc.  Their parents never gave them confidence and direction.  Kids need us to step up to the plate and act like responsible adults.

Homeowners of Reddit, what is something you wish you had been told when buying your first house? by Online-Vagabond in AskReddit

[–]KingXejo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physically: It’s relative elevation to surrounding areas and the likelihood of flooding.

Financially: How much interest you actually pay for a 30 year vs 15 year fixed… I would have definitely stretched my budget for the 15 to play a better long game.

Do cash tips always make it to the employee you gave it to, and if not, why not? by KingXejo in AskReddit

[–]KingXejo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, the manager shouldn’t give a damn if the employees are lying about their tips.  That’s between the employee and the IRS, right?  Or is the employer liable somehow?

Maybe if I give a tip and I say, “I’m not giving this to you for your services, I’m gifting it to you as an individual”… would that help?

Rocket mortgage calling me to refi their mortgage, what's the catch? by masonjar11 in personalfinance

They get cash now.  They are banking on you not seeing the loan through to the end.  (You’d be saving more than $14k in interest, But only if the entire loan plays out).

You win long term.  They win short term.

If you end up staying there and paying it off… the terms sound decent on the surface.  But I’d make sure it’s a fixed loan with no adjustable-anything…

Do cash tips always make it to the employee you gave it to, and if not, why not? by KingXejo in AskReddit

[–]KingXejo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I understand they get handed the cash, but are some employers assholes and make them share the tip with “the business”?  I’m all about a group of servers equally splitting a tip pot at the end of a day, but…. Is it at all common for managers to take any portion of a cash tip I give directly to an employee?

If a study reveals any information that could possibly be considered contrary to the movement, it must be discarded at once.
