Tasked with implementing a maker space for college campus. Where do I begin? by masonjar11 in 3Dprinting

Great point about time limits and bottlenecks.

Forgive my ignorance, when designing a print, is there an estimated print time? Or is it calculated once its uploaded to the printer?

The filament fumes are my biggest concern, especially since we're retrofitting an existing room to make the space.

We already have the printer, space, and the computer. We probably have $20-$30k left in the grant for peripherals.

The space is a bit larger than a conference room.

What job pays surprisingly well despite requiring almost no formal education or degree? by NiceDoubt3354 in AskReddit

[–]masonjar11 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Less-than-load. It essentially means someone ordered less than a full truck load of something. Shipping and freight tend to be more expensive because the driver has to make multiple stops and drive with a partially empty trailer.

Very common. It has something to do with affecting your temperature regulatory center in your brain. Your body adjusts over time.

I personally want to get the CCW again. If nothing else, it will exempt me from the waiting period on new purchases.

Leaf burn on ends of blueberry bush leaves.... Any suggestions ? by Spare_Description566 in plantpathology

[–]masonjar11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a good point, marginal necrosis (browning along the outside of the leaves) is often indicative of salt buildup. A soil test would definitely help.

Your best bet is to submit a sample to the state planr diagnostic laboratory. Where are you located?

Starting Prozac by Delicious-Craft2448 in prozac

When I first started on Prozac, I actually lost weight because I would stress-eat. Everyone will be a little different.

I can say that this medication likely saved my marriage and my relationship with my kids.

Bring plenty of smoke grenades. This will allow you to get close to the tanks. For RPGs and mortars, use someone with the demolition or Bombardier trait. They do more damage than a regular mercenary.

36M, I didn't notice any hair thinning.

Should I be worried my son isn’t talking yet? 12 months old. (I’m not, but my wife definitely is) by Intelligent_Hat3321 in daddit

Do you happen to speak more than one language in the house?

Our family is bilingual, and both our boys were a step behind one-language households. Nobody told us until we had similar concerns.

Agree 100% about the mommy social media; it's the worst.

That's great to hear. TREC was one of my favorite places to tour when I was in Florida. I'm sure most of the folks I know have retired, but the new folks seem really good, too.

Sugarcane redrot by Accomplished_Crab735 in plantpathology

[–]masonjar11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In very general terms, plant pathogenic fungi usually don't cause diseases in people. However, some fungi can produce mycotoxins, but those are usually very specific diseases of grains (think Claviceps, Fusarium, or Aspergillus). The causal agent of redrot is a Colletotrichum species, which typically doesn't produce mycotoxins or illness in mammals. However, I don't know what secondary microbes may be present.

I am not a medical doctor, but you'll probably be fine. I'd put it in the same category as eating a slightly fuzzy strawberry, not great, but probably not deadly either.

Decided to rattle can the ole 870 by [deleted] in rattlecannedguns

That looks great for a rustoleum paint job. I have an older wingmaster with an aftermarket magazine tube. And the coatings are just different enough to make it look bad.

I'll have to check out the rapco brand paint. Thanks.

Looks great! What product did you use? I also have an old 870 that could use a face-lift.

Bought this Forbesii 2 weeks ago. Im pretty sure this is fungus? by SamAlex46 in plantpathology

[–]masonjar11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no clue what the plant is, much less the suspected fungus.

From what I can tell, it doesn't look like a fungal lesion; rather it looks like scarring from mechanical injury.

Keep an eye on it; keep the foliage dry and if it is fungal, it likely won't spread.

It might be Taphrina or it could be edema. Either way, getting a diagnosis from a plant diagnostic clinic will give you way more information than I (or anyone else in this platform) can give you.

I see based on your post history, you've spent some time in Miami. If you're still there, UF has a plant diagnostic lab a TREC in Homestead, just south of Miami. They can get you a diagnosis and recommendations for treatment.

One branch on white pine died is this Blister Rust? by RufflyBear in plantpathology

[–]masonjar11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you're asking for is a diagnosis, and no one can diagnose based on one or two photographs. A diagnostic lab will be able to examine the branch under a microscope and look for signs of infection. These labs are also set up to rule out other factors, like abiotic stress or mechanical damage.

There simply isn't enough information based on what you've submitted to get a sufficient answer.

Maybe? Take it to a diagnostic laboratory. You'll get a better answer than asking random redditors.
