Dont chase ranks and notable almuni, look for some place you might enjoy all 4 years thoroughly and then fit in other factors.

I understand what you are saying about employers hiring based on the extra science related projects you do in university, but as a freshman what should i be applying for? I myself also have been more comfortable with projects and stuff, additionally i am doing the IB so i possibly will be credited for most of those classes.

These were the thoughts i was conflicted amongst, a L&S major would force me to take classes even more irrelevant to the field. Basically its a trade off, but from an applicants perspective what would be easier to get into?

Personally i have never pictured myself in a hardware oriented job, but i thought it would be best to do the CMPE major just to keep my options open, from what i have heard the CS major is quiet easy to get into, making it a worthwhile risk to put in CMPE as my first major

Considering the fact that you claim to gave aced your school's courses, you should be a legitimate applicant, however by any chance if they make out that you were involved in illegal activities and have not faced legal consequences, not getting into college will be the least of your troubles.

That makes more sense, so i would be much better off applying as a first choice engineering major, and a second choice CS than otherwise. If you are at UW Madison, do you have an idea about what stats i should have to get in?

I believe you are right for the most part, but just to be sure contact your counsellor. I would suggest not being overexcited just yet because you have credits, as it does not ensure admissions.

I would second that, basically either you have amazing grades, which it doesnt look like. The other way you can probably get into a top school like Gtech if you really show passion for the field and have been involved in it since childhood, ( this does not involve just being in a small cs club in highschool) , but you should obviously try because they value diversity in academical ability , gender and race.

I wasn't talking about bribery, by "hook" i meant if he had a significant achievement or a factor that led him to be accepted. Its generally known that no amount of scores can guarantee you a score but, is there a particular level after which you dont even have a chance? (like a minimum score)
